This is a completely random question, but does any one else have issues with familiars running away with their things? Food, favourite clothes - devices? Say, burying them?

You're probably right. The camera's gonna be your best bet. We don't really know what's going on in their heads...though I get the feeling it gets easier figuring that out over time.

[Or it could be that he's bad at reaching out and understanding his own familiar, or developing a bond. Really, he hadn't understood just how possible it was, but he's seeing it more and more from people who aren't himself. Hmmm. Food for thought. (And a little embarrassing, if he's just bad at it.)]

Anyway, people do that kinda thing with their dogs all the time. A magical familiar's no different. Maybe you'll even get something funny on video.
