I... er, I may know the answer to this already but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I'm looking for my family and also if anyone's magic is different from when they were at home. [He looked a little uncomfortable here mentioning this, but he didn't get the sense of any sort of anti-l'Cie dealings here and with people from other worlds entirely, he was almost certain that even if he did mention the name, no one would bat an eye.] I currently have healing magic and only healing magic. Back home, I was able to do more than heal. And I was also able to summon an Eidolon, a guardian of sorts. But he isn't answering anymore.

As for my family, if anyone has seen them or if they see this, please let me know? I'll type their names down below. It would be appreciated. Thank you.

[ The King of Lucis was never one for social media even during his heydays as a young prince. In fact, the royal family in general was always discouraged from using the latest social media apps out of fear of promoting rumors within the tabloids. Thankfully, Regis doesn't have to worry about that anymore.

The youth's message warrants his attention, especially since the boy has what seems to be a moogle lounging upon his head. Regis cannot help but look a bit taken back. While the fables of yore always spoke about Moogles, this is the first time he saw one.

He stares at the creature for a moment or two before deciding to answer. ]

I'm afraid I cannot answer as to where your family might be. However, I can answer that I've experienced...some irregularities when it comes down to my abilities.

Irregularities? How do you mean?

[Moogles had been fables on Cocoon too. Something that didn't exist anymore since the War of Transgression, but he had to admit, Daisy looked different than how they were portrayed in the shows. He liked her looked better.

She noticed that Regis was staring at her for a moment and she waved a sleeved covered paw with a kupo!]

[A faint chuckle escapes Regis once he sees that little wave from Daisy. She's quite darling! Almost as cute as Noctis' Carbuncle. He politely waves at her in turn before answering the following. While he won't go into too many details regarding the magic he once wielded, Regis will answer nonetheless.]

Much like yourself, the magic I once wielded in my realm now lies dormant here. However, it seems I've retained my mastery over the elements, more specifically lightning.

[If job classes were a thing, Regis would probably be more likened to a Black Mage than anything else.]

The way I used to use my magic isn't the same either, though. So I'm starting from square one. What about you?

Hey, sorry if I haven’t checked out yet, but I can see these names well. I’m going to write their names down on paper so I won’t forget. If any one of them does show up, I’ll let you know. I highly doubt anyone can find a tall ginger man and a brilliantly smart lady running around in Camelot either.

I got kinetic magic here, although back home, I had to rely on wands to cast magic. The wands I have at the moment don’t function as they would do in my world.

I take that you don’t use wands in your world, right?

Wands are these magical instruments that are used in my world to channel our magic and perform spells by centralising the effects for more complex results. Although there are spells that don’t require wands, but wandless magic is much trickier than wand magic since they require more concentration and tons of skill practice.

No. There was no time to grab anything like that. And it'd only be a picture of my mom and my dad anyway if I did. I don't have any photos of the others.

[What a shame. It would be easier to track down this kid's family if he had a photo-all those different last names make him think looking for visual similarities won't be a enough.

I've spoken to other people here who've said something similar. They were convinced of their ability to...use magic, prior to coming here. And then they discovered that once here, it had changed.

[It'd be one thing if it were just one person suffering from delusions of "working magic", but now the evidence is mounting and it's all going in a direction he doesn't particularly like.]

If you've been separated from your family, who are you staying with?

Magic wasn't really real back home either, to be honest. Or rather, it hadn't been seen in about 500 years. Only specific people could use it and they hadn't been seen until... well, until now. Basically. There is no convincing, I could use magic back home. And it looks like I still can here, just not in the same manner.

I'm rooming with someone I met here.

I used to be able to use projection magic. Copying the structure of something and then projecting that. I could also reinforce items with magic.

The magic I currently have is far different.

Cognitive type. Basically mind magic. So far most I've done has been dreamwalking.

You had magic at home? That's pretty interesting. Since you could do more than heal, what else could you do?

Yeah, I could. I was able to use offensive spells like fire and thunder and protective spells like shields. I could use buffs like haste and debuffs like slow, too. It was easier for me since I wasn't much of a physical fighter, so I guess my magical capabilities made up for it.

[And a apparently getting a giant fortress like Alexander.]

It sounds like it's pretty similar to some of the types of magic we have here, if what I've heard about means anything.

Maybe having one type allows you to be super specialized and focused. I mean, it's not like you have to be able to physically fight to be strong, and I'm guessing you know that.
