I'm Princess, Ren Jinguji's familiar. Usually the small fox fairy following him around. He gave me a permission to post here [Press X to doubt.] if I got bored and well, it's taking such a long time for him to come back I decided to check how you all are doing. Like, other familiars in human bodies?

It's great, to be honest. He treats me well, like a friend and not a "pet". He's also a mage I can be proud of... even if sometimes a little too distracted from training.

Ah... they tend to be. But I've also found them surprisingly strong as well. Even if they sometimes break mentally they come back stronger, at least.

I am concedrned primarily in the physical sense. DOes your bonded one often partticipate in battle? My lady refuses...

Oh! He doesn't. His magic types aren't suited for combat and he is... not very fight-y, if you know what I mean?

Which is alright with me, since I don't really enjoy fighting either.

I am a cat... familiar. Voidsent, technically, though I suppose the titles are interchangeable at this point. It was rather hard to move in that body, though, so the woman I'm bonded to took to carrying me around.

...This body is much nicer. Maybe I'll keep it for a while.

I don't think the one bonded would appreciate you keeping the body for any longer than necessary, especially if it's hard to move around in yours.

No, I doubt it. But perhaps we can work something out. After all, it turns out she has a huge soft spot for cats -- all I have to do is act the part. She dotes on me ceaselessly as it is, after all.

I find I'm also quite fond of being capable of speech, little though I need it. Perhaps I should look into adapting that cat form to be able to speak, as well. Oh, and the opposable thumbs are quite an upgrade, as well.

You plan to give yours back immediately without a fuss? That seems rather boring. I merely take what I can get.

I don't have any problems with the body I usually have, so yes, I plan on handing it over. Especially since being a male is... strange and I don't want to know how much more awkward it can get.

[She hopes she doesn't need to use a bathroom while Ren is out hunting orbs.]

I wonder if we familiars could try transforming our bodies to be more suited for us though... we are rather strong beings, so why wouldn't we be able to?

Ah... [yawn,] yes, I can see how that would be troublesome, wouldn't it. I simply chose to re-assume the body I had occupied in the previous world, but now that you mention it, it may be time to make a few adjustments. Surely she won't mind... if I allow her any say in the matter at all. I'm quite convinced at this point she doesn't even know I know how to communicate, much less advocate for myself.

It's not like you'd need her permission anyway. They don't own us, we're just bonded to them.

I am Arashi, a crow tengu, currently inhabiting the body of Hijikata-san. I find him to be quite heavy and earthbound, but also very strong, much as I imagined Frankly, I feel that my limited physical combat experience and inability to fly in this body leave me quite exposed to danger.

Well, as long as you don't leave the place you made the exchange, you should be fine, right? Our bonded ones will come back and know where to find us.

Though the lack of flight is definitely annoying to me.

[Ouch. It's the lingering smell of Hijikata's cigarettes, but for all Princess knows Arashi just presented him as some unwashed hobo.]

No. Ren actually smells wonderful... like roses and cologne. Has your bonded one showered recently?

I should hope so. He does not feel dirty, but the foul scent is everywhere - in his skin, in his hair, in his clothes. I suppose I will need to have words with him about this once we reconvene.

[But despite this really bothering him the experience is kind of intriguing!]

Have you attempted accessing your bond partner's magic? I must admit that I am curious about the elements besides wind at Hijikata-san's disposal.

Oh... what kind of a scent is it? Maybe I can help you identify it further. I've spent time at Ren's karaoke bar so I have picked up quite a few scents.

[Like alcohol. That was a bad smell.]

No, I haven't. His magics are both very support types, so they're not exactly the most interesting ones.

[Arashi would value having some support magic at his disposal, however temporary - but Hijikata's types aren't too bad either. He'll try his hand at some water- or earth manipulation later, or maybe he'll go meet those ghosts Hijikata commands for the first time. But clearly right now the stench still takes priority.]

It's bitterly acrid. It seems to be a smoke residue, but it shocks me to imagine that the herbs he smokes are this foul.

[Arashi sometimes smokes the kiseru pipe back home, but there's no way he wouldn't notice if he ended up smelling like a crossover between a forest fire aftermath and a sulfur pit!]

Pretty sure you would [because she doesn't trust foxes or felines at all nor does she care if the fox takes that as an insult but she shrugs] but also pretty sure he knows you well enough to know that it'd definitely happen if he was away somewhere and left you alone with his device.

A~ah... probably. If he really wanted to avoid this whole thing he would have given this thing to his girlfriend or his boyfriend.

[Speaking of being interested in something-- The camera is still showing the dragon but now there's Tuk Tuk coming closer to her and sniffing all around her because there's food somewhere!!]

I'm sure you are, I've never seen a fox, who can fly. She can sort of fly whenever it rains, it'd be easier to show than explain...

[Dragon running / jumping on water and being able to make huge jumps and leaps and whatever else... Looks much cooler than it sounds.

Aaaand Raya realizes, that she's still showing the dragon and now there's her other companion too. Oh well.]

That's Tuk Tuk, he's my best friend, who arrived here with me.

[Said third-pill bug, third-armadillo, and third-pug hybrid finds mango cubes on a plate near the dragon and starts eating them.]

There aren't very many foxes like me around, admittedly. [At least she hasn't met any.] When it rains... huh. That's something I would definitely want to see.
