[As the camera turned on, there was a gothic looking young adult fixing the settings so the lighting could show him well on video. Taking a breath as he glances around to make sure he did it right before he spoke.]

Alright... Think got the hang of this-Now, hello. Seems this place has some version of Camelot, different from mine back home. Well it's generally pretty old actually comparatively, this world let modern times not affect it at least.

The name is Douxie, not sure why I was brought here, all I know is that the magic I used to have under the guidance of Merlin has all been changed to just kinetic. Mind you I am very much able to handle it, but it feels odd to be just stuck with one field of magic for now.

Anyone else here in the same boat? That is, anyone used to be magical back in their worlds? From what I gathered there seems to be all sorts pulled in here.

I'm guessing you were more free to choose what magic to learn back home as well?

Technically, anyone can pick up magic - but not everyone can excel in it. We all have different strengths. For example, mine is healing magic, along with elemental tomes, whereas I would be a lost wreck if I tried dark magic.

... Here, however, I can only do minor healing. I used to be able to save lives on the battlefield!

Ah I see, yeah back where I came from you had to have a certain gift to control magic. It does take years and years of practice too. Favoring one type of magic can be possible though, dark magic is definitely a dangerous sort.

Oh that is a shame, sorry to hear a lot of that magic is lost for you.

I happen to be a wizard back home and I do agree that having restricted magic can be a little confusing: Everything I learned from magic school has been traded out for kinetic magic of this world and I can’t use wands in here for two months.

Yeah, 'fraid my staff and charm are of no use here. Not even when I try some of the sigils I know by heart.

You had a magic school back home? How interesting, we didn't have much of one where I come from. Mostly just lucky if you found a good master like Merlin.

Same here too, Douxie. I did tried to make some rocks move by using my wand when I first came here and nothing happened. That’s understandably relatable. Can’t say if the cloak that came with me is working as it would have in my world.

Oh yes, there are magical schools in my world. The one I attended to back home is among the most prestigious of them; it is required for us to learn to control our magic as we grow older. I happen to have plenty of good teachers who have taught me well.

(And there were some lousy ones like Lockhart, Umbridge, Quirell, and even Crouch Jr. pretending to be Mad-Eye Moony, but he is not talking about it for now. Snape is right in the middle after realizing where his loyalties truly lies.

Douxie’s mention of Merlin does get him excited though.)

Wait, you also know Merlin too? There is also a Merlin in my world, but he’s already dead, still an important figure in my world too.

[Douxie gave a warmer smile in the mention of his old master Merlin. No doubt he is a different lad in Harry's world, but good to know he had reputation there as well.]

Oh yes, Merlin was a good teacher, been faithful to him. Even when he writes things in ancient draconic if he wanted something you need to figure out on your own.

[Gives a chuckle at that, Merlin always knew how to challenge Douxie, even if it did get under his skin a bit for being difficult. He really was like a father to him.]

Yes... He's also passed away from my world, I miss him fondly.

From the sounds of it, quite a few of us are in the same boat. Not a single person I've spoken to so far is able to utilize any of the magic or similar sort of abilities they had wherever they came from. As for the magic here, so far I find it unimpressive at best.

So all the sources of magic is different for each person, depending on what world they came from... Yes, suppose that makes sense, different universe have all sorts of possibilities.

Hm, really? Shame, I was hoping for more as well. Used to being able to banish nasty buggers back home.

It makes sense, sure, but adapting to it is still a pain. I had quite the spell arsenal back home, so having to start over at square one has been frustrating, to put it lightly.

Darn right, my arsenal was much more powerful back home as well. Not sure what they're planning at reducing our magic but it's very frustrating.

Having all of my magic taken from me is- I don't understand how this world is able to do that.

I was trying to understand the mechanics of that as well.

You're right it's very frustrating. I want to see if there's a possibility to research more into the matter myself!

...If they wanted our help to restore the world, why not allow us to use the full extent of the powers we held?

I don't blame you on wantin' to give whoever's in charge of that some critique. At the very least find out why they'd want to, if they want to make sure if there is a balance of power or something else. I'd like to know!

Tohsaka Rin, you can call me whichever you feel like calling. I'm a magus, or mage as most worlds call us, back home where I have much more magic than all of this kinetic stuff here.

It's nice to meet you Rin, a mage huh? That's similar to our world, but we're mostly called wizards.

Hm, seems that whatever powers seem to be here took our powers and limited them. To what true purpose remains a mystery. I can only guess it's to keep a hierarchy of power.

Nice to meet you too. That's true, that is similar especially if you don't need wands or staffs. Similar to this world too with calling locals wizards and witches and sorcerers in most stories.

True. Maybe Merlin or Morgana or both didn't want to risk anyone being more powerful than them. That and who knows what kind of people arrive here but they could have at least let those keep their powers, who use their magic for good things.

They're... similar. But it's like taking all the years I've trained and throwing them away to start over. ...It's depressing to have all of that taken away.

900 years is a much longer time than I was talking about. I'm sorry, that's really terrible. [He's only been training since he started at UA, which is minuscule in comparison.]

I've been telling myself that I shouldn't give up, that maybe it'll be easier this time around if I have to relearn and understand this magic stuff. It might not be any consolation when you've lost 900 years, but at least you know you're good enough to master it to begin with.

Sadly they didn't tell me much about it, just lended me the phone and patted me on the way. I think the only hope I have is to at least meet this world's Merlin, he was my master back home.
