Hey guys, Amy Rose here! [ Those that know the hedgehog girl probably won't be surprised by the cheerful smile she's wearing. But a closer look would show that it doesn't quite reach her eyes, which are looking a little red. ]

I know I haven't exactly been around all that much anyway, but I'm thinking of taking a few days off. Nothing to worry about, no big deal, but I just need to take some time for myself, maybe clear my head a bit.

[ Her expression wavers, just a bit, but she covers it quickly. ]

If you need me, I'll still be around and you can give me a call. But otherwise, I'll catch people later!

Obviously something happened. Minako thinks about it for a moment. On the one hand, if Amy wanted to talk about it, she probably would've mentioned it.

On the other hand, maybe she's just the type who needs a little nudge to actually talk about what's bothering her.

So even though it might sound like Minako being a little pushy like usually, it's actually her trying to be tactful in her own way when she shoots the other a private message. ]

what happened?

[ Amy isn't normally the type not to talk about what's on her mind. She's been a bit more discerning these days, but she's still a mostly open person. In this case, though, she hadn't wanted to really talk about it publicly because of how...sensitive this particular topic was.

But she's talked to Minako about something personal before, so when the other girl messages her privately, she feels a little more comfortable talking to her about it. ]

A friend from my world is gone. He was the only person I had from back home.

i'm sorry, that's always hard. there were a lot of friends from my world here as well when i first showed up, but they disappeared pretty soon after.

[ Sure, Usagi and Mamoru were still there, but Minako knows very well that no friend is ever a substitute for another.

And yes, yes, she is being a little bit more serious than she usually is.. but Minako definitely always has this serious sort of side to her.

It's just that this is a more appropriate moment to bring it out. ]

but even though it's hard, you have to know that you're not alone. don't retreat if you actually long for company. i'm sure there are many here right now who are concerned about you.

I know. I do still have some friends here, and a I appreciate everyone wanting to help or just listen to me talk. But I think I do just need a bit of time to clear my head. I probably won't be gone for too long, I just need some time.

[ Amy considers leaving things there for a moment, but maybe she does want to talk about it. And she's already told Minako a bit about this anyway, so if anyone was going to understand, it'd be her. ]

Do you remember when I told you about having feelings for two different guys? The guy who just left was one of them.

[ And that would probably explain why this was hitting particularly hard. ]

[ That would explain a lot. And though she could say something about how that might make the entire deal with Amy's feelings a little easier for the other, she knows this isn't the time for it. It'd just be cruel, so Minako doesn't write anything about that.

Instead.. ]

Yeah. I really do.

[ Even though it's only been a day, it was the thought that she wouldn't get to see him again - not as long as she was here - was what really hurt the most. ]

The worst part is that we had actually just talked a little while ago. It turns out that he might've actually had feelings for me after all.

[ Ack.

Talk about horrible timing. Did that mean he had been the person Minako had been anonymously talking about as well, back when someone asked about dates? She had already thought the timing was very suspicious.. ]

i'm sorry.

[ What else could she say in the face of that? ]

didn't you guys come from the same place? [ Or maybe she's remembering that wrong, she's not sure.. ] who knows, maybe you'll be able to continue talking about that stuff once you're both home again

We're from the same homeworld, yeah. So hopefully we'll be able to pick up where we left off whenever we meet up again.

[ Yet somehow, she has a feeling that it won't be that easy to just continue that particular conversation. ]

then it's only a matter of time!!

[ Apparently Minako is a whole lot more confident in this matter.. but on the other hand, it's a whole lot easier to say that when it isn't her own love life. It's so much easier for her to believe in others than it is to believe in herself.

And she really wants to believe that Amy and the person she likes will be alright, somehow. ]

if you guys really like each other, then that person will be waiting for you

i'm sure of it!!! (o^-^o)

so don't worry too much, and just see your remaining time here as a fun time to spend with the people you care about here before you can go back home and see that person again!

[ There had been a time, not so long ago, when Amy would have believed just that. She had spent so long believing that her one true love was waiting for her, and that no matter what obstacles were thrown at them they would still be together in the end. It wasn't until coming here, and having to question her feelings for both Sonic and Shadow that she began to doubt whether matters of love would really work out for her.

But even so, she does appreciate Minako trying to cheer her up at least. Having someone cheering for her really does help, even if it's just a little bit. ]

Yeah, I guess that's a good point. I might as well enjoy my time here before I need to go home. Hopefully he'll be waiting for me when I go back.
