A Very Windy Situation (video; un: hpotter)
Well, this day has gotten really weird. And I’m not kidding that I may have caused a bit of destruction with my newly discovered element.
(Harry is reporting live at the forest near Nicnevin where a messy scene of fallen branches and rocks awaits anyone watching this. While he is getting ready for the Free for All tournament, he was trying to get his electricity magic ready when he unknowingly conjured up a strong breeze that knocks out some branches and causes some rocks to scatter on the ground. Yep, he actually caused a bit of mess upon unlocking wind magic and he is honestly shocked by how strong that wind breeze was.
Hedwig could be seen hooting in disbelief as she looks at the mess from the branch she’s sitting on while Rose is also squeaking in surprise as she hangs out on his right shoulder.)
So I finally got a new element to work with, though I’m afraid that I have made quite a mess in doing just that. Didn’t expect that wind breeze to be that strong when it first came out. I do apologise in advance for this unintended mess and I will take all responsibility for it.

Congratulations. [Ah- sort of!]
You're pretty strong to do all that... I was just lucky to have some tutors first, before I destroyed anything. [But more importantly,]
You're alright, though?

I’m okay thankfully: I didn’t go myself injured when I conjured the wind breeze. At least the wind magic is not as destructive compared to fire magic when I first discovered it.

Fire's the first thing I'd learned here. [Incidentally; chasing his ice, strange enough.] Our real power's in mixing the wind with that, if you need it for something. You'll probably get by pretty easily. [Speaking on strategies, tactics. Not everyone's keen much on fighting here; seeking advantages.
He forgets this too often.]
But you're not wrong, though. I'd doubt there's anything more destructive than flames, so I'll be glad you weren't injured. Winds are just less predictable...
[So much patience required of them. It's taken him months for his level!]
It's like releasing a valve. All at once, and you're off your feet with that. Just take things slowly.
[The wind's sort of tricky!]

Thanks for the advice: I will try to remember it next time while I am working with it. Elemental magic happens to be my secondary magic, my primary magic leans towards kinetic magic.
no subject
[And just like that, alone in his bright, sudden interest; "Kinetics" being his favorite sorts to spar with. ...Because of course they are. He almost smiles a little.]
Can you combine it with your Elements here?
[But how would that work?]
no subject
I haven’t gotten to the point where I can combine the elements into kinetic magic just yet, but I will look into it real soon.
no subject
You use your mind for that? I've only seen it used in combat. Just for speed or projectiles, but facing both's like a nightmare when used at mastery levels...
[He likes the challenge though.]
Maybe the winds could boost your flight somehow. I can float for a while, but I haven't exactly flown before. [Though now he's curious.] Were you... doing something earlier? [Before the mess?]
no subject
(As someone who is more used to flying with brooms, broomless flight is definitely a new thing to him. He has been trying multiple times to fly well but so far, he has no luck with it.)
Oh, as for what I was doing earlier, I was in middle of practising electricity magic in the forest when the breeze came out of my hands instead.
no subject
What do you mean, "brooms"? [Brooms don't fly! ...He can't let this go.] Anyways, it sounds a lot like what's happened for me before, trying to use ice spells. That's how I'd discovered the flames first. [Though he'd been sparring some too back then. Complete accident.] I was so desperate to have my ice back, I'd lost my interests in anything.
[But anyways,]
I know it's frustrating getting the wrong results.
no subject
(He does hope that he didn’t confuse Shoto even more with this brief flying brooms explanation.)
Yeah, I can agree with you on that: it does get pretty frustrating sometimes to end up getting the wrong kind of results. Even I didn’t expect to gain fire magic first when I gained elemental magic.
(At least the two of them do agree that getting results different from what they had initially wanted can be very annoying. Trust him it is not everyday to set a random tree branch on fire while in a secondary magic fair.)
no subject
[Not his fault. As one who's newly discovering things, opening his thoughts to new wonders—magics—he doesn't quite know what a witch is, what they do. The other was perfectly clear before.]
It's just- we'd only used our Quirks to fly, so I was surprised a little.
[He's stuck on "magical" mostly.]
Does this mean you were using magic before? [In his time?]
no subject
Also, what are Quirks? I have never heard of them before? Are they similar to magic in some form or are they very different?
no subject
Were there magic-types there too, before?
[Like their Quirk types?]
But you could think of them as abilities. They're sort of powers that we're born with, and almost everyone has one—something special, innately. So some have wings or explosions, [or burning brightened-blue hellflames] or more strength than anyone else can match. I guess it's our own sort of magic. It's why I'm familiar more with Elements here.
[Flames and frost in his past.]
In a way, I got lucky.

Um, can wandless and nonverbal magic count as the closest thing my world could have to having kinetic magic?
(He has been wondering about that since getting kinetic magic at the beginning and those magics do have an emotional link to them to some extent.)
Wow, there are plenty of types of Quirks to choose from.
no subject
What's "wandless" mean?
[Eyeing his palm instead, watching his left as if it'd light itself.]
But some do try to choose. You'll end up with me, sometimes, but most just fail in mixing their Quirks together.
[Over and over again.] Some get married just for that. But I think I'd like your world. ...All that magic. [Trying to smile here.] Were you strong back then, too?
no subject
Yes, I was able to handle a lot of magical things back home even at a young age. Sometimes unintentionally, sometimes intentionally, but I managed to pull through regardless of how tough things could get.
no subject
Maybe a wand would help here too, sometimes... if you're used to that. I guess we're both just starting over again.
[Though, they're both much further along now, from the sounds of things.]
I'm Shoto, by the way.
no subject
(He did tried using his wand for some time, though he has not been successful in doing so.)
My name is Harry. Nice to meet you too, Shoto.
no subject
Would you mind if we met to train, sometime? With the magic?
no subject
Tagging his TL by tomorrow!
Sounds good to wrap this up!
no subject
Just stay in one piece until we meet again.
[No more crashes!]

But the games usually end when someone catches a small winged golden ball the moment it gets released on the playing field.
no subject
...Also, I meant the broom flying bit.
no subject
As for the brooms in my world, they are often made with these magical spells, enchantments, and charms that would allow anyone riding on them the ability to fly around the sky. They can range from being simple in nature to being quite complex.
For example, one of the brooms I used to ride on had an enchantment that would let it fly on its own without a rider while the other is made to float at the exact height for me to get onto it without any problems.
