Recommendations for what to do with shed antlers, go.

Can they be used for magic? Weapons? Something like that. I've heard they can make good chew toys for carnivores.

And before anyone asks: they are mine, not some deer in the woods. I did not go hunting down something and take its antlers.

Alright, folks, one more question:

What's your favorite food that doesn't include meat? I want to try some new things and am getting bored of the same-old.

[ Compromising position his ass. It doesn't take him long to bandage up his head because, well, he's done it many times before and it gives him plenty of time to make sure there's no BLOODY ANTLERS laying around the house. Or like anything else that would constitute a mess. He's dressed in nice slacks; however, is wearing a hoodie over top of his shirt. Big, baggy, comfortable. And it's nice and warm, which is perfect considering he's sensitive to cold.

He doesn't take more than a moment to answer the door, and there's no scramble to be heard. ]

[ It's said so matter-of-factly. He'd been expecting her. ]

[look she's no idea the sort of things her ex gets up to when she's not around. it's the story of her life, and the story of his seems to be winding up in scenarios where his antlers drop or his leg gets bitten off.

or, you know. he makes some kind of taboo speech broadcast to everyone in the city and you watch your ex boyfriend get dragged off-screen while having a Rexmas dinner alone with your family like some loser.

anyway. she arrives, empty handed but wearing baggy, warm winter clothes of her own, half expecting him to have a rushed bandage job but instead seeing him all patched up in antlerless glory.

shoving her hands into the pockets of her big flowy skirt, she smiles up at him. there's a speck of fuzz at the tip of her left ear-- her familiar just hitching a ride.]

Hello Mr. Bambi. Long time no see.

[ Bambi. Louis doesn't love the nickname, but there's some affectionate familiarity attached to the name when it comes to Haru. He appreciate it in his own way with her. Just as he always did. It's not that he's surprised she used it - of course she did. It was the nature of their relationship. ]

It has been awhile, hasn't it?

[ Has it, though? He doesn't know. He's been busying doing quests and keeping up with work. He tends to forget himself and lose track of time when he gets down to it. So he won't say she's wrong because he doesn't really know, but it could have easily been two days ago that he last saw her. ]

I have food and water if you want anything.

[ Polite host and all. ]

Does my bandaging meet your expectations, by the way?

[the affectionate familiarity comes from the memories she still keeps of their time together. what they used to be may have long since past, but...she's always someone who keeps important memories close to her even if their lives are completely different than what they had shared in Cherryton's garden.

Haru's been keeping busy herself, and honestly she should make more of an effort herself to reach out and message him--especially with Juno gone. but she also didn't want to bother Louis much.]

I'm just here to check up on you, you don't have to play host. [looking up at him, she tilts her head slightly, ears swaying with the motion.] You'll have to come down to my level so I can get a good look.

[ He's fine with it like this, though. The occasional meetings and checkups that just remind him that she cares. Still, it's not all on her to reach out - he has never been good at it. Ghosting and vanishing was always easier than reminding someone you'd like to see them or be in their company. ]

Right, right.

[ A sigh. He bends at the knee and squats down as low as he can comfortably go. Which he knows will certainly be more than enough for her to get a good look at his head - especially since he tilts his head forward so she can see the bandage job that he put together quickly. It doesn't look super rushed, but there are certainly small, less noticeable signs that he did it himself. ]

You'll see that I did a perfect job.

[ He's teasing. ]
