Only the lowest of low would disrupt someone's burial. Is this not something where all of you come from? You are affecting their afterlife

Assuming he's actually dead. There are stories of tombs of kings where the king in question is not actually dead. If he is, however....well, I'd be afraid of curses.

He may not be truly dead.

[Undead have been known to go dormant, even to appear corpse-like. And the curse still remains in effect.]

Regardless, if there is now a means to lift the curse upon him, I would risk a temporary disruption. He can be reinterred.

That isn't to say he should be moved about recklessly. He absolutely shouldn't.

In my world the soul is immortal. Their tomb is what they will bring with them to their afterlife. When you disrupt that then you are hurting their afterlife.

I might have expected that more caution would have been learned by now, but apparently a destroyed mountain and two decimated towns isn't nearly enough to convince would-be heroes of anything. A little grave desecration seems quite trivial in comparison.

There are a lot of common people here. I think common people will just do what is asked of them. [That sounds like a real asshole thing to say...because it is. But being a royal god gives him a different idea of how people work.]

But I would still hope common sense would come into play.

While I don't agree with what is happening here, there is a thriving business in my world based on opening ancient tombs that are over 2000 years old for scientific knowledge and studying the cultures that came before us.

Many of the largest tombs of kings and queens of old have long since been ransacked however, which is why the one of a small boy-king that was intact was such a huge discovery in the 1920s. Ironically, a name mostly lost in time is now on the lips of many even in my time nearly a hundred years later due to this discovery.

But studying the bodies of royalty, going into their tombs, would get you murdered. I'd have no complaints about that punishment
