Video ; UN: suneater
[The video feed is of a mostly dark room with a window that's letting SOME light in, but not enough to really show much of Tamaki himself, who is mostly in shadow. From the sound of sheets and blankets shifting he's probably still in bed. He's not a morning person.]
I really didn't want to ask like this... But I don't know what else to do.
I've been here for a month but I'm having trouble sleeping.
I'm not used to it, it's too different from home, or the dorms.
If it's not too much trouble...
Does anyone... have any advice?
[He groans and then mutters "embarrassing" to himself before he cuts the video out to wait and see if he can get advice.]

i missed this tag somehow, I'm so sorry!
I could try some different pillows to start with. Blankets could be next... Just trying one new thing at a time.
[It's something to start with anyway, right?]
Thank you, for the advice.
o9 it's all good!
[He sounds almost amused.]
You could just share the room, but if you're already used to being alone... It might prove more distracting. My apologies.
[Does he have to apologize for ill-suited advice? Probably not. Is he? Yes.]
I hope something helps you, at least.

[there's a pause after he asks this question and he offers a very small smile.]
It could help, but I don't really know anyone well enough here to have a roommate. --Did you wind up here with anyone you know? It seems like some people have friends here while others don't.
no subject
...Hopefully something helps.
[At the question, he shakes his head.]
No... So far, everyone here has been a stranger. The... Familiar I have seems like something I had back home, but not quite the same.

He's not wholly optimistic that much of anything will help, but he's learned to keep that level of negativity to himself for the time being. He's still going to try.]
Similar how? Mine is familiar from popular myths, but they aren't actually real.
no subject
Ah... I had a creature just like it back home.
[He looks back, off screen, presumably to wherever his familiar is.]
I don't think it's the same one, but they seem to be the same species, at least. How they exist here and there, I don't know.

[He frowns a little.]
If you don't recognize it as the one you had, it probably isn't. I guess the rules for what they can be are pretty broad.

[Unless the trip altered Ace, somehow.]
But I think they're just a side-effect of the way magic here works, though I'm no expert on the magic here.
no subject
Yeah, you're probably right. They seem okay, at least. Not dangerous.
no subject
[A nod.]
Yeah. I think the most dangerous thing about Ace is that he's a tripping hazard.
no subject
[That must be the familiar's name.]
I never thought of naming mine, but it sounds like a lot of people do.

[...]
But I don't think you have to. I'm not sure they'd mind.

[The way he says this implies a softness, not negativity. Kaede has brought up a good point.]
no subject
[Not that he knows from experience or anything.]
So... There's no harm in seeing if she likes it, at least.
