Thirteenth: Killing the Mood (Video; un: Caster/forward dated to 14th)

[Unlike last Valentine's Day, Caster didn't come to the network late that evening looking for a distraction- instead, she used the chance to shatter romantic moods, and ask a question that had been playing on her mind for some time.

Of course, the video was dark, poorly lit and as suspicious as was traditional with her- the lower half of her face only visible by the gleaming of a strange potion brewing nearby.]

Good evening, Avalon. For those I haven't met yet, I go by 'Caster' here.

For anyone else who's grown tired of the day's festivities and would like to humour me- I have a question. Tell me, what is the afterlife like in your worlds? There are so many legends, after all, and I'm always interested in hearing in how they differ.

[A pause for thought, before adding, by way of deflection: ]

Ah. I'm working on some new potions at the moment- do come by if you're curious.

I am not one here. it isn't as if I can do much so there's no point in worrying about something I'm not here

you said you went to the underworld to kill apophis but might i ask for what purpose that was

at least you have some sense. Not many do here

[He respects that she understands that he still deserves some of her respect. Maybe he isn't a god here but he is still one and that shouldn't be forgotten.]

he kidnapped my brother, the crowned prince of my lands. It was an insult against our royal family and so that couldn't be ignored. I went after him to show him what happened when you went after our family

[It was because he loves his brother but that's not something he can admit.]

many here come from an age where the influence of the gods has faded
in my lifetime the gods did as they willed and frequently involved themselves in the lives of us mortals

in the era i was summoned into after my death
their direct involvement with humans seemed greatly diminished
perhaps that is why some of those you have spoken with have been a little more careless

[That or they were arrogantly bold.]

Where I come from, we do not involve ourselves like that. They come to us and ask us for favors and then we will. But why involve yourself with humans? I dont understand that

But everybody here does seem to be from a time longer after mine. Maybe humans have learned to take care of themselves then
