[February 6th comes and goes, and with it Jiro Yamada's birthday. Now both of Ichiro's brothers' birthdays have passed without him being there.

Despite them being frozen in time, Ichiro still feels like he's losing time with them. And it's coming out in his inability to cook for one person.]

i haven't posted to the network in a minute so - yo, this is yamada ichiro.

i made way too much curry recently. like three teenage boys worth of curry, and i can't eat all of it myself. if you want any come by room # at the inn.

[He can see how hard this is for Rosho and how hard he's trying to hold back. Ichiro would feel the same, he thinks, in his position. Having a partner keep a chunk of their life secret... Like, of course everyone's entitled to their privacy but it doesn't sit well. The past is the past so what's the point in keeping it secret? Rosho seems to love Sasara no matter the circumstances; Ichiro doesn't think that will change.

But, this is also prior to Ichiro's conversation with Hitoya so he doesn't know all the details. He hasn't connected the dots between Sasara and Kuko's sudden departure. Maybe something really bad happened between Samatoki and Sasara that his elder doesn't want to bring up.

Rosho wringing his hands, though, really strikes an empathetic chord in Ichiro. It's almost painful to see him like this. He can't cover for Sasara again.

Ichiro takes a deep breath.] He was the same as he is now, honestly. [And because this comment stuck out to him most:] But he wasn't "all by himself." I don't know how they ended up together but he was already with Samatoki Aohitsugi when we met.

[ Its like a huge relief comes off his shoulders the moment Ichiro says that first part, and Rosho thinks that finally, finally, he can stop overthinking this period of time when he and Sasara had been apart. He'd been just fine. ...okay, probably not completely fine, because he knows of Sasara's penchant to keep his emotions to himself, but he managed to get by. He just tried to be himself, some silly idiot that told bad jokes, liked to bother people, maybe he performed a bit while he was in Tokyo. In the end he doesn't know, but he needs to stop assuming the worst. That's what he'd like to do.

If it wasn't for that one particular name that keeps popping up all the time. Samatoki Aohitsugi.

Again. That name, all the time, its always there. And he doesn't know what to do about it. ]

I see... [ Rosho's voice sounds distant for a moment before he focuses his attention back on Ichiro. ]

I'm glad. Sasara really likes attention, obviously. He likes to be engaged with interesting things. And because of that, he tends to gravitate toward certain people a lot. I guess... whatever Samatoki was like back then, he... really liked Samatoki.

[ There's a certain relief in that fact, just knowing that while Sasara was somewhere else so far away, he had company. He was happy. And he knows he can trust Ichiro's judgment. If Sasara was just the way he's always been, like now, then that's the most important part.

And yet, he's never talked about Samatoki. Not even once. ]
