[February 6th comes and goes, and with it Jiro Yamada's birthday. Now both of Ichiro's brothers' birthdays have passed without him being there.

Despite them being frozen in time, Ichiro still feels like he's losing time with them. And it's coming out in his inability to cook for one person.]

i haven't posted to the network in a minute so - yo, this is yamada ichiro.

i made way too much curry recently. like three teenage boys worth of curry, and i can't eat all of it myself. if you want any come by room # at the inn.

No...I had to rush! People don't offer free food all the time!

[Free food goes so quickly in Avalon, he'll never forgive himself if he missed out! Okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic! Crow catches his breath and recovers quickly once he inhales that lovely smell. This is certainly curry! Crow smiles widely.]

Well, don't mind if I do!

[He walks in, and sees a bowl sitting there waiting for him. Ichiro might even notice that this guy has a tail and it's swishing around enthusiastically.]

By the way, my name is Crow! And thanks for the grub!

[He definitely notices that tail. It's hard not to. Thankfully he's been here long enough to not be phased by humans with animal characteristics any longer, but... there is. Something kind of funny...

Ichiro leans back against a surface opposite of this newcomer chowin' down.]

Your name is Crow but you're a - what? A cat? A tiger?

[because the player here also thought crow was a cat at first lol]

[ Crow doesn't know why everyone thinks he's a cat. Probably because Sanrio designed him inaccurately. Though....tiger sounds pretty cool. Maybe he'll take that as a compliment.

He smirks as he takes up the bowl of curry.]

Nope, not either of those! No one ever gets it, but I'm actually a hedgehog!

[The only thing that gives it away is the spikes on Crow's jacket, but that can be easily considered as fashion. He eats a spoonful of curry and marvels that it's really good!]

You really made this yourself?! It's good!

A hedgehog... [Yeah, he can kind of see it with the spikes. But take those away and... cat.

But oh!] Yeah! I make it for my brothers all the time. S'why I ended up with so much.

I'm an only child, so I have no idea what that's like, but it must be nice to have brothers.

[ No wonder Crow's such an attention hog. But if he did have siblings, they would fight all the time but be fiercely protective of one another.]

Which one are you? Oldest? Youngest? Or the demon spawn middle child?

Demon spawn- pfft ha ha! [Okay, that gets a whole laugh out of Ichiro. Jiro, poor Jiro - getting roasted even here when he can't defend himself.]

I'm the oldest of three. [He's still laughing a little, trying to hide it behind his hand. The comment is just so funny when -] It's actually my youngest brother that has a bit of an attitude. Jiro's pretty gentle.

[He's just not all there sometimes!]

They're always more lenient with the youngest one.

[ Not that Crow can talk, since he's the only child and came out pretty spoiled and rude. His father and he would often get into arguments. Or maybe it's because they were both pretty hotheaded.]

It must be hard being the oldest, though. Were your parents strict?

[Oof.]

Our parents weren't around so I had to be the strict one. But it wasn't so bad. [He says it like it doesn't bother him, anyway.]

I can't imagine being an only child, though. You get all your parents' attention but does that mean they were strict with you? Or are you spoiled? [Ha ha.]

[ Crow's totally spoiled, but his parents were pretty strict too.]

Yeah right! I wish I had it as easy as the other kids! I lived on a farm, so I always had to get up at the crack of dawn to do chores, and when I came home from school I had to do more chores. Even on the weekends, there were even more chores!

[Crow sounds exasperated, but he really did enjoy living on the farm and taking care of the cows. Though his parents must've felt bad about putting their son to work, they treated him well. Until their only son reveals wanting to be a rockstar instead of carrying on the family business.]

Though the farm wasn't all bad and my parents did their best!

That sounds kinda nice actually. [The pasture is always greener on the other side, y'know.]

When I was old enough to take care of my brothers myself, I started an odd jobs business out of our place and it was kinda similar to what you're saying. Get up early, make sure they were ready for school, do whatever jobs came in and when they returned we did our chores together and everything.

[Crow sounds exasperated for sure, but Ichiro can hear the reverence in his voice.] It's rewarding though, isn't it? The hard work?

[That kind of life sounds a bit rough. Crow couldn't imagine working odd jobs don't top of taking care of siblings and doing chores. Crow shouldn't really complain, because at least he had his parent's presence, even if they did give him a hard time every now and then.]

Yeah, it was rewarding. I learned a lot from being on the farm, some things I can even apply here in Avalon. If it wasn't for that discipline I learned, then I don't think I would have pursued my current career. It takes a lot of work and dedication, and sometimes you don't see the fruits of your labor until later down the line. So I guess it made me prepared for that.

[ Crow smiles fondly as he finishes off the curry. Despite his complaining, he loves his parent's farm and the cows there.]
