It's almost Imbolc time, isn't it?!

[ It's pretty sudden, the way the feed cuts on and there's Gareth's sunny expression. All frustrations from earlier about her brush with wolfy-ness had been worked past, at least until next full moon, and she realizes she has something she really needs to focus on! ]

I've got to gather some fresh herbs for butter cakes, certainly. But I'm sure there's other work to be done heading into Saint Brigid's Day, too.

If anyone's curious about the holiday, feel free to ask! Or, if you want to help me gather herbs, I'd appreciate the help. It's tougher than it sounds, given there's still plenty of snow and cold about.

[ Gareth lets out a light laugh, rubbing the back of her head, and lets that sit a moment, worrying her lower lip before, hesitantly, saying the next thing. ]

It's... strange, isn't it? Maybe it's because spring is the season so strongly associated with companionship, but winter can be really lonely, right?

[ Her cheeks burn slightly, the words having finally gotten out, but she just as quickly shakes her head, waving her free hand before the camera. ]

F-forget I said that! No sense in spreading that kind of gloom, right? Anyways, I hope you all enjoy herb-butter cake! I'm going to be baking up plenty, even if you don't celebrate the holiday!

I wouldn't mind helpin' out. I heard about Saint Brigid when we moved to Ireland, but it was autumn when we got there so I never got to celebrate it.

[Not that Robyn has ever been that devout, but celebrations are always fun whatever the reason behind them.]

It's a pretty big deal in Ireland, yeah! Orkney had a lot of cultural cross-sections, so Imbolc is celebrated there, as well.

That being said, a hunter is definitely a good hand to have when seeking out wild herbs!

Only...er...how do people celebrate Imbolc, anyway? Aside from needin' those herbs?

[ She puffs her cheeks, which just made the redness more pronounced, but the edge in her tone suggested that, yeah, she wasn't actually thinking about THAT. She's just lonely, Beo! ]

[The reaction just gets him to let off what was supposed to be an amused grin. Only... it kind of comes off more sharp and wicked...! But don't worry Gareth! He means well and is totally not being scary.]

So, what sort of herbs were you looking for? My familiar could help with it as well. Give her something else to do beyond trying to warm her own bed.

Oh! Butter cakes are a good choice! If you want, I'm sure I've got a few extra herbs around that I haven't been using. Depending on what you were looking for.

Saint Brigid's Day... Hm, yes, I suppose Mr. Ireland and Mr. Scotland would be getting ready to celebrate that soon! I've heard of the other name as well, but I can't quite say I'm all that knowledgeable on it.

Lavender and rosemary are the chief parts of the herbal blend, but I can send you a list of some more obscure ones, too.

Truth be told, I'm not... sure where the name Imbolc comes from. Orkney was such a melting pot of different Northern cultures, you know?

I know it's old, so even if any of England's brothers were here to ask I'm not certain if any would remember... Oh, but yes! That much I do remember! It's always been quite an interesting place to visit.

I didn't know about Saint Brigid's Day to be honest, ahaha. I'm so focused on Valentine's Day... [To no one's surprise, it was her favorite holiday. And it was the perfect occasion for reluctant lovebirds to come together, too!] You know, I felt pretty lonely too but I found the strength to confess to someone I really care about. Maybe you should try to gather all of your courage and ask someone out on Valentine's Day? Now is the best time for that kind of thing!

Là Fhèill Brìghde, sometimes called Imbolc because of when it falls. It's a feast day for midwinter, sort of meant as a way to cut through the last of the winter perishables, you know? That's why herb-butter cake is such an important thing to make for it!
