Eleventh: Watch Out For Her (Video; un: Fashiondiva)

Heeey Avalon! How is everyone? It's me, your favourite Fashionista, Junko Enoshima! It's been ages, huh?

So I like, totally skipped out on the whole Fae Party thing and... uh... did anyone-...

[Her confidence seemed to waver there, and she couldn't quite muster the courage to talk about the transformation that had befallen her- thankfully, she was able to pivot quickly.]

Anyone wanna let me know how it went? I'm totally curious, was it as much of a shit show as the Trials were? You gotta give me all the gossip, 'kay?

And I know you're all like, anxiously waiting for me to announce the Enoshima Winter Fashion show, but don't worry, that's totally on the horizon, I promise! Just gotta think of something suitably impressive now that I've been here over a year, you know? I can't just half-ass it!

But this is a PSA about something more serious- something that happened back home. See, I managed to stumble onto some info about those guys who killed the dragon at the end of last year. One of them comes from the same place as me and has been hiding out in Avalon since she got here.

Back at home, I held the title of 'Ultimate Fashonista', right? Well, she was known as the 'Ultimate Soldier'. A girl named Mukuro Ikusaba. The sort who'd go out on hundreds of battlefields as a mercenary and come back, like, totally unscathed.

...And she's also someone who helped end my world.

You may've seen Gundham going off a while back about a 'King' who drove the world into ruin and darkness with an army at his side? I'll link it if not. The 'darkness' he spoke about was an all-consuming despair. Lead by the Ultimate Despair- the King, Mukuro and the King's army- society was driven to collapse. A period where that despair sunk in so deeply that chaos, death and bloodshed took over everything.

Mukuro was this King's trusted right hand. A hopeless, merciless battle-junkie who could only ever think of warfare. Tactics. Strategy. Weapons. A killing machine who fought and eliminated many people at her King's side.

[She gave a heavy sigh- playing it off like the weight of the topic was a lot for 'innocent bystander' Junko. But truth be told, it felt so strange talking about herself like this. She didn't have pride in her actions, but couldn't say she felt remorse either. And there was the matter of her death, in the end, at her King's hand...she was still sorting through her feelings on that. Finally, she shook her head.]

There's more. A lot more. But just be careful if you run into her, 'kay? I dunno her motives for killing the dragon or where she is now but- yeah. Think that's enough serious talk for the day.

And I guess for... anyone I've spoken to about this stuff before, just... take from that what you want. You know what i mean.

[A confession, of sorts, to those who knew who she truly was. Of her crimes back home, and an admission of her part in killing the Dragon. She had already started to tense up in anticipation of their disappointment and rejection.

...Burying her identity hadn't worked. So now it was time to try truly living a double life.]

Mukuro is a good person. She may be the "Ultimate Soldier" of whatever, but there's so much more to her than you think, Junko.

[Jean will go with this act, but he won't stand for Mukuro belittling herself or painting this horrible image of her.]

She may have participated in what you said back home, but over here she hasn't done any of those kind of things. Even killing the dragon... that was a choice she made with me. A choice to protect people from a potential threat.

[Whoops, he outed himself, but for a good reason.]

[She may have moved out of that apartment over a week ago, but Klaudia can't believe her eyes right now. This is too stupid not to respond to.]

Oh, wow, that sounds so scary! I bet she's really into weapons and stuff. Probably has them stashed all over the place. Do you think she trains with them a lot? Every day, I'd imagine.

What does she look like, anyway? If we're supposed to stay away from her, then we should know what we're looking out for.

[A brief moment of panic as she realised he was outing himself in this as well- when she hadn't really done the same. But also... he was resolutely defending her.]

...Seriously, you're not at all concerned by any of that crap? Like, you can defend her motives all you want, but pretty sure she only went along with it because she couldn't think of a solution that didn't involve fighting something.

I was the one who suggested it, so I'm not very much different. I didn't think of a different kind of solutions either. But I know she did it for a good reason. I trust her.

[He trusts you, Mukuro.]

She's like a sister to me.

[Wait- did Klaudia know?? Had she realised this was about the real her?? Mukuro had been able to breathe a sigh of relief when she finally got her own space back, but- well, all that tension came back when she read the message.

And right now, she was frantically trying to come up with something that didn't sound suspicious.]

I mean yeah I'd guess so but I don't know! Soldier types are weird about that stuff right??

[How about...just suspiciously ignoring the next question entirely. That works right?]

A pity you do not know where she is. I would like to speak to this so-called 'Ultimate Soldier'.

[He's not especially horrified by any of that little speech, just intrigued.]

...well, she strikes me as the weird obsessively-loyal sort, so. She'll probably stick by you.

[She'd have your back, Jean. Whatever happened.]

[Huh, this wasn't someone she knew.]

Pretty sure you just totally missed the point of this whole, stay away from her part of the PSA.

...What would you even wanna speak with someone like that about?

If she lives up to her reputation on the battlefield, she would make a fine addition to my army! But you will make the task difficult for me, in choosing to make a public enemy of her.

[Well, it sort of works. Only because Klaudia wasn't looking for an answer, so she doesn't care if it gets ignored. There's plenty of other buttons to push.]

Oh yeah, totally weird. Kinda like how you're really weird about not knowing anything about fashion, right? But like, the opposite way where you should probably get a hobby that you're more suited for.

What else are you an "Ultimate" in? Wanna name some things? I'll wait.

This isn't me putting out like, her CV for a job listing or whatever you know!

[Despite the flustered response, she couldn't help but study the man a little closer. He certainly looked capable as a warrior.]

But you have an actual army, huh? For real?

[Crap crap- yup, those sure were some buttons being pushed. People like Klaudia and Hikaru who actually knew what they were talking about when it came to fashion made things especially difficult for her.]

Oh come on, I make money as a fashion vlogger on here, of course I know what I'm talking about...! I like, get multiple messages a day about my fashion shows, that's why I brought it up!

Uhhh I only really have one title?? Most Ultimates do.

[An outright lie.]

[He has no idea what a CV is, but he gets the idea of what she's trying to say. Mostly.]

I do! One sworn to ride with me to the ends of the earth... though it seems they were not able to join me in this world.

Were I to encounter this king you spoke of, I would defeat him soundly and knock some sense into that soldier of his.

[Of course his army wouldn't have been able to join him- people were brought here alone, after all.]

That's just how things work here. We don't come with a lot from home.

Pretty sure Mukuro'd fight you if you tried to take her King out, but you totally seem the type who'd enjoy the challenge, right?

Ah, so you understand my way of thinking. If prevailing over her in battle is what it takes to sway her, I would eagerly accept such a task.

You may not see her worth, but she has people here who do. So don't go around spreading shit about her.

You know exactly nothing about fashion. You have a pretty face, and people like to see it. It wouldn't matter what you wore, but don't pretend like your outfits are actually good ones.

Being trained as a killer doesn't define who you are. Bad people do good things, good people do bad things, and everyone is capable of making bad decisions. Maybe you have a personal grudge, but it's not okay to turn everyone else against her. Anyway, the dragon was doomed the moment the King ordered a hunt. It doesn't matter who killed it or why. If it hadn't been one of us it would have just been some of the King's knights.

[ Oh. Oh. This has got some gears turning... There's a tempered tone to his voice in attempts to try and disguise his suspicions. Specifically the phrase "battle-junkie" rouses these suspicions, besides already being familiar with the concept of the Despair from his correspondence with 🔪 quite a while ago... But he'd not forgotten much of what she'd told him. He's connecting dots, but at the same time, values their anonymity, though he knows she'll recognize his username, so he approaches this audio response with obvious yet cryptic caution... ]

...Most people only take drastic measures for complicated reasons. War is not black and white. Neither is morality.
