[Lorenz is folded in on himself, tucked tightly onto an armchair with his legs under him. He's doing his best to look as irritated and haughty as ever but there's a little edge of something heavier under that.]

Has anyone had much luck with potions work yet? [He holds a small, empty bottle up, some small trace of liquid still left inside it.] I've no idea what he meant to accomplish with whatever this is but-

[He's quick to redirect the camera before he either reveals how worried he is or just surrenders to his frustration. One is as likely as the other at this point. The camera pans down to show that his chair is tucked up beside a bed... a bed where one Claude von Riegan lies, suspiciously peaceful, clearly deep asleep. His familiar, a small wyvern about the size of a housecat, curled up on his chest snoring softly. Though she squirms a little when the light from Lorenz' phone shines on her, flopping one wing over her head.... and smacking it directly into Claude's face.

Not that he responds.]

We can't get him to wake up for anything and while I can't be too concerned, it's likely his own fault. Honestly. Always sticking his nose in things-

Well. Naira isn't concerned so I doubt he's in any danger but we need to be returning to Camelot before long. Of course he'd play with these things and not stop to consider how inconvenient it is for the rest of us cleaning up his messes. [The camera turns back to him, fingers rubbing at his brow as he wills down his annoyance. It's so much easier to be irritated than it is to twist himself into knots with worry.]

If we can't find a way to wake him I may have to ask someone far sturdier and more agile than myself to carry his sorry hide back to Camelot.


((OOC: There is no actual potion mishaps here but no one is surprised that's what Lorenz suspects. Flayn is hovering around Claude too so expect responses from one or both of them. Not like anyone is worried about this idiot.))

Mm hmm... [ Baiken wasn't buying it, but she didn't feel the need to call him on it, either. Instead... ]

How long has he been out?

Since last night.... he wouldn't wake up this morning and now...

[Well it's getting late and Claude, much as he likes naps, isn't one to laze about all day without getting bored. Never mind sleeping like this.]

May I ask how long Claude has been asleep?

He is foolhardy at best, sometimes.

We've been trying to wake him all day.

I see... [Rinea taps her cheek thoughtfully.] In my brewing experience, potions can very well last as long as it takes for it to pass through the body. Therefore, I would not panic until at least twenty-four hours have passed.

[pause...] That is, if we are certain it was a potion?

I can't imagine what else it might be? [Utterly bewildered.]

It has not yet been 24 hours and there's nothing to say he did not mistake whatever this is for something else we brought with us in the wee hours of the morning. I know it is silly to worry, at least until tomorrow but... [He raises a hand, gesturing dismissively at his anxieties in general.

He can't help being worried about his boyfriend okay.]

I'm actually in alchemy. I guess it depends on what that is as to whether I can help with anything.

I think someone with Kinetic magic might be the best option as far as getting him somewhere.

I'm afraid I haven't the faintest idea. I don't know if you'd be able to determine anything from having a sample of... whatever this was.

[He heaves a sigh and gives JJ the most put upon look.]

I'm afraid Kate is the only person I know with kinetic magic. [And he's pretty sure she'd drop Claude on his ass on principle.]

I can try. I might be able to tell. And, well, if that's the case - I might be able to help carry him.

Even making an attempt would be greatly appreciated, JJ. I certainly hope it doesn't come to that. Carrying him down the tree, I mean.

... I'm sure he'll be all right. [ byleth says that at last, letting out a breath even as her brows knit. ] Though moving him back to Camelot will be a task, to be sure...

[ she starts to consider possibilities for how to sort out the logistics there, drumming her fingers once. ]

I don't know how much help I can be, but have both of you been taking care of yourselves? [ she's trying. ]

[Is that worry or a threat? Proooobably a little bit of both, let's be honest here. How dare he worry them both like this.]

We have, as best we can. If he doesn't wake tomorrow though we're going to have to sort out some way to get him back to the city.

[They hadn't exactly planned to stay much past the Solstice celebrations and the options were going to be carry him down the tree or give in to eating fairy food before long.]

[ something about the almost indignant nature of lorenz's worry nearly makes her laugh, but she manages to stop herself. her expression shifts back to thoughtful, and she tucks a stray lock of hair behind her ear. ]

There are the stairs in the base district level, aren't there? I realize that's not ideal either, but... it must be easier than climbing back down with him. You and Flayn may be able to do it with a stretcher...?

[ or, like, a stretcher and someone else to help out. both would be good. ]

We'll figure something out if we must. Rêve will be of some assistance as well, I'm sure, but...

[He huffs a sigh, giving Byleth a Look that is clearly exasperated as much as worried.]

You must think I'm being foolish, worrying over him.

[He certainly thinks he's foolish.]

At the end of last month I fell asleep for a full day. Apparently, my familiar felt our bond weakening and put me in sleep. While I slept, I saw memories from home. In fact, I aged a couple of years while I was asleep. It was rather odd.

[He chuckles a little.]

Maybe the same thing is happening with your friend?

Memories.... from home?

[Lorenz frowns a little, considering that possibility. He and Flayn both remember far more than Claude himself, after all.]

I wasn't aware that was even a possibility. It sounds as though it would be quite disorienting.

I didn't know it was possible either before it happened to me. And yes, it was quite disorienting to wake up... you might want to give him space when he does.

Of course, it could be something else entirely, but that's one option.

[ A familiar face! Weiss keeps that bit to herself, though. Some people she's met in Lunatia who are here don't remember her, while some do. It's best to pretend she doesn't know anyone. It'll be less embarrassing that way. ]

Oh— that actually happened to me before. I only woke up over a day later.

[ She'll explain why, of course, but she figures it's more important to address the concern of waking up first and foremost. Except— ]

Considering his track record with potions I would not be surprised in the slightest.

[He huffs in irritation but then his expression softens and for a moment he's busy just... watching the other man sleep, worry knitting his brow.]

You're the second person to suggest another possibility, however.

[It isn't until he allows himself to really drag his attention away from Claude to look at his phone that he has a moment of realization, looking startled ever so briefly before covering the expression. He will never... really be comfortable meeting new people with white hair. Sorry, Weiss.]

I wish there was some way I could help. I don't think I'd ever want anything like this to happen to anyone.

[ Weiss doesn't... really know the full story, but from what she sees? It's something she would worry about constantly if it happened to her. ]

I've never tried it with a person before, but... Kinetic magic users should be able teleport. Not very far, but... if they do it one short distance at a time, then at least that's a lot better than carrying him on your back.

[Certainly, very trustworthy. She doesn't look like a warlock working for Those Who Slither in the Dark at all. Definitely not.

She can absolutely see the way her appearance puts him on edge.]

Other possibilities have been presented but... it seems likely.

[It was a reaction she was used to- being (rightfully!) treated with suspicion. This man made no secret of his feelings toward her, that was for sure, and it made her expression twist into a smirk.]

I wondered how long that would take. It's been a long time coming.
