Let's get this shit show organized. The sooner we get everything done, the sooner we can leave so it's time to figure out who can do what. Who are you and what can you do? What are your strengths and weaknesses? We should have some sort of formal training so that like can work with like and eventually figure out how to work together as a cohesive unit in case something big comes along.

i have a lot of experience in battle and some military strategy but i can tell you right now most people who fight in any capacity probably dont want to publicly list their names, abilities and weaknesses to strangers
i support your idea and even i dont want to tell you what i can do, ha

people need to know why to trust you with that kind of information, what you're doing with it, where it's being kept, who else will know, what the end-goal is for having this roster..... you didn't even offer your own strengths and weaknesses.

if you're trying to build brigades, this isn't how to do it. needs to seem more aboveboard than this. people won't stop looking over their shoulders in this place, that's for sure. and they shouldn't. trust is hard-earned. that's universally true.

My strengths aren't applicable here. I'm a detective. I can more or less solve a crime if I have a good team. Here, I'm shit. I can talk to animals, that's about it. And it's all well and good for someone to say: Well clearly you have to expose yourself to the criticism and amusement of others, but another to act responsibly.

Of course I'm assuming too much of people. That's the problem. I'm too much of a bloody pushover. Which is fine. I'll do it my own damned self.

if you want people to trust you with their abilities and weaknesses to form a loose militia then you cant be a pushover. your idea is a serious one and a harsh one. but a good one. you just need to execute it right so people will want to participate. this isnt something you can do by yourself. especially if you're just a detective with no military leadership experience. a list of everyone's abilities isn't going to help without an actual purpose planned behind it. and in this case..... it's probably to fight. we need brigades, divisions... but factioning off like that can lead to other serious problems that could divide us more than unite us. dont be mad at people for being suspicious. its a life or death question you've asked for a lot of people.

I'm not asking for a militia, just some sort of cohesion. And it's not something I asked either. This place is what is forcing this into our hands.

but cohesion for what then? if not for brigades then what are you proposing basically like a government census? just to have a registry of people here?

So that everyone can know what everyone can do and if "quests" come up, people will know who they can work with to get it done. To move as an informed unit rather than scattered all over being heroes.

maybe we can work this in with some kind of welcome committee? something that makes it seem less creepy and more official so people are more inclined to share? its a good idea dont get me wrong i just dont know how you'd gain people's trust enough on your own as one random person to make this kind of list

i helped arrange a kind of social security network / support group.... in another place kind of like this place.... it went pretty well. we had luck building our roster that way. i think what youre suggesting is a team effort.
