It's been a while since I last talked about it, but if there are other military trained or otherwise military involved people here, I would be interested in learning about your experiences and maybe train in different military styles.

I've been gone from the world I originally come from for a long, long time but I don't want to get rusty with my abilities. I do train regularly with my fiancee and a friend, but having different styles for variety would be great.

My own military training mostly consist of fighting monsters multiple times larger than myself - imagine smallest being four meters and tallest being over ten meters. So I'm mostly trained in aeial combat in equipment meant for that purpose that I don't have here. Otherwise I do know how to fight other humans in various ways. Even to death if absolutely necessary.

Either way, I'm called Jean. Here my magic is animal and healing, so I'd very much like to keep up with my training so I can continue fighting.

Yeah... [Keith sighed.] I've been trying to stay out of my apartment so I don't burn it down.

[He shrugged a little, and then nodded.] I was part of a space exploration program before ending up with Voltron. They kind of trained us like military, and we were taught things like self-defense and stuff. My piloting courses were focused on fighter craft.

I've gotten other training, too, with the Blade of Marmora and with Volton... for fighting and stuff. Hand-to-hand, swords... that kind of stuff.

[Hence why, during the animal mage hunt, Keith had been able to hold off some of the attackers for as long as he had at times.]

I was taught hand-to-hand training and firearms, but I picked up proper sword training here since I don't have my usual weapons here. So I think when you get better we can figure some sort of training out if you want.

I've heard of the term... but it's not really something we have done as a training back home. We did, however, use that tactics against other military members when we had some infighting.

[So nothing really official and not much, but he does know the basics.]

I happen to be fairly well versed in it. I held a command position during a lengthy war against a much larger superpower of a nation, it was the only way to keep them at bay with a handful of archers and farmers under me. [and powerful lizard warriors but...]

If you're really that curious, I wouldn't mind crossing swords. The more sparring partners, the better.

I really am. As I said, having different styles to train with for variety is my goal. And that definitely sounds interesting.

I can't say I'm versed in aerial combat, but I do have some experience combating monsters myself. None quite so big as the tallest you've mentioned, but I have faced some that were massive.

That being said, I'm much more familiar with fighting human opponents. My best weapon is the lance, but I have some skill with the sword, as well. And while I'm not versed in flight, I am well-versed in horseback riding.

I am also well-versed in horseback riding. It's necessary to know how to if you want to survive back home. I have also taken up sword training while here, since our weapons back home aren't exactly the same as using swords.

I would be glad to train with swords if you would like. I don't mind facing against a lance either, even if I have no experience of wielding one.

Of course. I'm always happy to find new sparring partners. I can always learn something new from someone new, even if there should be a skill gap between myself and my partner.

Keeping up with your training is certainly admirable— and a wise venture, in this place— but I cannot imagine choosing to follow military standards when one has the option not to.

[The practical skills involved are certainly worth keeping sharp, but the 'm' word does cause him to raise a brow, especially given Jean's apparent age.]

I don't really follow all the standards, but it's easier for me to follow the training methods I was taught for three years.

I do, unless it's for work - but usually I don't need to get up that early for anything.

Fair enough. Something to be said for familiarity and consistency, to a certain extent.

I'm not sure if I have a specific style, but I do train with a spear as my weapon, if that helps you?

It wasn't really an academy, even if we had classes.

[Academies sounded too fancy for Titan Hell anyway.]

The only spears I have experience with are explosives ones.. but I would be interested in sparring against a normal one sometime. I only have firearm and sword experience.

I'm a shinobi, which is the military force where I'm from. I can show you some things from my world if you do the same.

I'm still in the progress of learning how to use it at all, but I might be interested to learn later.

I would definitely be interested. I only have roughly six months of sword training behind me, though.
