Who were these good people?

People I knew and worked alongside. People who just wanted a better life for themselves, those trying to make their country a more equitable place for everyone. People just living their lives and trying to survive as best they could in the circumstances they were born into.

[ He includes himself in that number, though he's never going to say it out loud. It's hard to think of himself as purely a good person, considering some of the things he did. He's remembered in history as a good person, but that doesn't mean he sees himself the same way. ]

And...the last few humans working tirelessly to restore the foundations of humanity.

Well...Back home, there weren't really non-humans. They were good to animals, if that helps at all. The ones restoring the foundations of humanity were very good to non-humans.

That's understandable. When you've been treated poorly for so long, it's hard to let that go. I hope that you've at least seen there are good people here and maybe you can start to trust a few of them in time.
