Good day, Otherworlders. Merlin here and I decided to do an AMA because I'm currently stuck indoors, sick with this magical flu. You don't want me to go around sneezing on people, so I have to stay at home.

... though you should have seen the donkey ears I accidentally and temporarily grew on Arthur!

[But anyway, onto the actual business, right?]

So, all questions are fair game, but I reserve the right to not answer if I feel like it. Ask me what has been burning in your mind.

So if someone has actually mastered their magics, what else can we do if we're not getting more?

[Okay, Hawk's fibbing slightly and hasn't touched anything to do with Earth element, but he has indeed got enough skill with both magics that he's bored with it. Seriously sucks sometimes to master things so quickly even if magic took longer than most things.]

Are you sure you've mastered both of them? Because there are a lot of things to these magic's you might not even realize. You could try using them in different ways, too and then you would need to master that.

Pretty sure. Is there like some sort of test we can take to prove it and get another? Or if you got some bright ideas for elemental and kinetic I'll listen.

There's no such test.

I've been around for longer than any of you can put together and I discover new things about magic all the time. There's no way any of you have mastered them if I haven't.

[As to ideas though.]

Did you know metal is one of the elements you can use?

One doesn't need to know everything to be a master. I bet even when you do learn new things that you adapt your knowledge to them just fine.

But since when is metal an element? Doesn't that fall under earth? Also thought most usages for metal would be a part of alchemy here from what the shit I read says.

[Well, at least that is something potentially of interest, except he hates Earth. But really he's just hit a plateau and doesn't see a way to get better at this point beyond new magic.]

Did I ever call myself a master? I just said I'm pretty darn good at magic, not that I've mastered everything.

[Sure, compared to the otherworlders he might seem like a master, but really he's not done with learning.]

You need fire to heat up potions in alchemy. You need water for most of the potions. You need earth to make an alchemic circle. These things are always more connected than you think.
