Hello, people of Camelot, Celliwig, Lestari, and worlds beyond these stars. I am King Arthur. I am sorry it has been some time since I have been able to directly address anyone. My injuries kept me away for some time, and the happenings that occurred while I was on the mend were graver than we could have expected. I am sorry for the tribulations all of you have been through, and would like to thank all of you for your strength and compassion toward each other in its wake.
To that end, I have been in long-hand communication with the Queen of the Fae in Elphame. We have been writing since the Hall of Mirrors was compromised, and with these new incidences she has agreed to offer safe passage should we clean the Forest of the Felled of all of its trappings. Though some of you may have been in the first party at the start of the month, rest assured I shall be leading a party alongside Glewlwyd at the start of November. Success will result in an order for even the Unseelie to allow us safe passage and we shall be invited to Nicnevin, their capitol, for winter solstice celebrations.
I shall have a list of recommendations for entering fae lands released to all of you, as there are some dangers that we are aware of that do not exist on this side of Avalon. In the meantime, I open the floor to questions from those interested.
[ OOC NOTE: Arthur will reply to new top-level comments posted before the end of the month in order to maintain feasibility for mod replies. Threads posted 11/1 or later will not be responded to. Any threads started before that time may be continued after that, but may be cut short due to this being an AMA-style post. Arthur has a kingdom to run, he can't stay online all day! He also will likely not reply to flat-out rude/troll-y comments, though you're welcome to post them if you just want to show your character's response. Thank you! ]

How do we get your sword back?
[Yuber has always been fond of cutting straight to the point. Excalibur is the only part of all of this that he cares about.]

[ Given the number of otherworlders who he has both been warned about, like Yuber, or seen commit other less than noble acts, anyway. ]

[Souma bows to apologize for the piggybacking of a question. He shifts uneasily, and then spills it.]
I wanted to know... Do... we know if. Can the dragon be... communicated to?
I carry dragon blood. My... great-great grandmother. And, I met someone who befriended an orochi-sama. It's... a very powerful animal god, somewhat like dragon.

[ off to a promising start..? anyway, he's nervous, talking to royalty and all. ]
I get the whole "man of the people" thing you have going for you, but like, given how things have been going lately don't you have like—... I dunno... like champions or something? Or—... oh! Duh. Haha, knights? Aren't there like a shit ton of knights?
Basically, you're like "The Chosen One" or whatever, right? So, um—.., isn't it smarter to maybe start delegating things and maybe do the staycation thing for a while?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term "staycation." As for my knights, it would appear my ranks are slow to rebuild after most of them have been dead many centuries now and most of their descendants are in other worlds.
[ There are 8 people who have gained the title of knight and 3 nobles it's not... Quite a shit ton yet. ]

[Oh, but the matter on hand!]
I'm sure you're still busy putting things together among other things. But did you have anyone in mind to help organize the cleanup?
no subject
Thank you. I only wish I had more time to meet with all of you like this more often. Glewlwyd and I will be leading the way, but I think team leaders for quadrants of the area would be good. I was considering calling upon knights and nobles willing to take the lead for such.

Holding the phone back somewhat, he bows gently. Hopefully it captures well enough.]
Your Majesty. I do have a few questions, and some things I would like to share. But, I would prefer to do so in person. May I ask how I might arrange an audience with you?

[ Arthur doesn't handle his own schedule ok, he has servants who dress him. :') However, in-person audiences can be requested Here! ]

Hello, Your Majesty.
[There's a formal bow of her head.]
My name is Hanabi Hyuuga, from the Hyuuga clan of the Land of Fire. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
[With two of three of the missions ending in disaster, Hanabi's careful to phrase this delicately but still get to the heart of the matter.]
Our recent missions were...chaotic, and I think it was in part due to many of us having never worked together before. Will there be more direction from you and others you trust going forward?
no subject
[ He doesn't know that Lady is the right title, but he hopes that it shall suffice. ]
Most recent missions that otherworlders have been partaking in have not been on behalf of Camelot. We came to aid when Celliwig and Lestari needed us, but the situations that unfolded before that were not lead by Camelot because they were not part of Camelot's orders. All cities except for Camelot are under the jurisdiction of the fairy queen of Elphame. Avalon is and always has been part of the fairy world, Camelot was brought here and granted land after all the good my knights and I, and Merlin, had done for the world as a safe haven for those who needed sanctuary from their own worlds because of anti-magic sentiments.
That said, now I am recovered from injuries sustained in the Hall of Mirrors and enough otherworlders have proven themselves worthy, I will be seeking to designate leaders among the otherworlders for missions under my orders that will be more directed. I cannot account for activities those choose to participate in outside of Camelot and my say, but I should hope my leadership will make those that are go much more smoothly soon.

Many of us here come from less than hospitable worlds. Some of us are even dead back there. Whilst I understand chivalry would demand of us to do our duties without expecting anything in return— Will it be possible for those of us who so wish it to remain here once the Calamity averted?

It is good to hear from you, Your Majesty, in spite of the circumstances... no, particularly because of the circumstances.
As the relief efforts have continued, many of us have also been motivated to work on our disaster readiness. There has been no lack of ideas for ways we can improve, but broadly speaking, they have fallen into one of two categories: becoming better informed of our situation through research and communication; and becoming collectively stronger by honing our tactics and teamwork.
To this end... do you have any guidance for us? Is there anything you believe would help us most, or that you would caution against?
no subject
My advice is to remember that this world is of the fae, not of humans. While many are benevolent, there are just as many whose very natures are destruction and trickery. They're not likely to openly share this world's secrets with us, and when we head into Elphame, all of you must keep your wits about you.

I was curious about Lady Morganna. We haven't heard of her for a while. How is she doing?

[He nods and gets that greeting out of the way first.]
I had a few questions regarding the current state of Camelot's treasury. [After all, refugees cost money and so did helping other cities rebuild.] Do you foresee having to raise taxes to offset the cost of aiding the refugees?
[Because he has suggestions, if so. But also...]
And as for the reason for those refugees...do we have any more idea now where the necromancer who was the cause of all this has gone?
[Because everyone is talking about the dragon and the dragon had been very dramatic but the necromancer was really the first domino to fall, so to speak.]
no subject
[ 15% of nothing is nothing, it makes more sense to get people back on their feet first. ]
The necromancer has jumped to another world with an escaped prisoner. Time is frozen outside of this one, so they will not be able to move until time flows again. But unless we can determine what world they've escaped to and time the restart precisely with a team to go after them, there is a fair chance that Kymbyr will escape.

[She's on video, but one gets the impression she'd be bobbing in a curtsey were she there in person. Jane doesn't intend to ask him any taxing questions - she's sure he's running a veritable gauntlet with some of the people who have replied to him already.]
I had a personal question, if I may... ah... what kind of tea do you like best?
no subject
[ Arthurian times are late 5th and early 6th century! The first reported exports of tea from China by the Turks are in the late 5th, but regular trade didn't happen until the early 15th century, so it wasn't a drink he's had a lot of experience yet! ]
So far, I find Ceylon to be enjoyable.
