The New Year is a time, in my world, of celebration and setting new goals--new resolutions--of what you hope to accomplish and aspire to for the coming year.

Do you have any such goals? Shush. Yes, I know I'm sloshed-- They probably are too. If so, I'd love to hear them.


It is one of my resolutions that, after years of denial and silence-- [A slightly wet breath, the kind that preambles tears.] --after years of denial and silence, yes, I know I've already said that that I do not hide what I no longer have to hide, that I love freely and openly-- You're making me forget what I practised!

Oh, sod it all. [There's a giggle and merriment in his voice. Maybe he tried to hold his companions face in his hands. Maybe he tried to go in for a kiss. Who knows, this is just audio. You'll have to imagine it.] I'm absolutely besotted with you, you stupid, handsome demon--There. You vain thing. You got the handsome part in. Handsome, and sweet, and so very good to me. I love you, Anthony J. Crowley, and I want all the wide world to know, and the many, many universes. And I want Her to know that, and Heaven, and Hell, and everywhere in between. [He laughs. And laughs.]

You actually did it! I didn't think you would... Thought at the last minute you would have some uncer--... unseinit... Anyway, doubts! And you worked the sweet in too, I heard that you bastard!

[ A curse word had never been said with more love behind it. ]

[Mildly indignant, with a prim upturn of his nose. He leans over onto Crowley's shoulder as he sets down his empty cup.] 'Course I did it. Said I would and I did. I am an angel of my word.

[And settles himself in, sort of burying that nose against Crowley's neck and shoulder, muffling his words. ]And you are sweet. Sweet on me.

[ With Fell so close Crowley's arm landed quite naturally around him, holding him snuggly as if they had always spent every New Year so tightly wrapped together. They would from now on... If he actually had a resolution that would have been it. ]

Oh, I didn't think you were lying!

[ He never did think that of Aziraphale even when, in times past, he had in fact lied to him. ]

But it's so bold so...

[ He struggled for a word and ended up having to take an inspirational sip of wine to settle on one. ]

Out there! We couldn't have done that on Earth, even after everything.

[ God mightn't have minded but Heaven and Hell? Who knew. ]

He's not engaging in this in any way shape or form and still is hoping Fell will spontaneously forget he exists.

[That being said, at around midnight there is a scratch scratch scratching at Fell's door. Should he open it he will see a spectral whippet with two roses in her mouth, one white, one black-- both dried and dead but still maintaining their beautiful shape. Her tail will wag back and forth as if asking if she's a good girl]

[Its the night after New Years when he opens his currently Crowley-less hotel room to find... He startled at the whippet on his doorstep, before realizing it came bearing gifts, not a grim warning or a Lassie-like pronouncement that Alec had fallen down a well. His expression warmed into a teasing frown]

Oh, was that you just now? What is he doing making you be his messenger service? Really, the nerve of that man.

[He offered a hand to be sniffed before attempting to pet the ghostly pup.]

Would you like to come in, my dear?

[she gives his hand a polite snuff and a lick that is cold as winter fog in a church yard and comes in when invited. Immediately she sniffs around, tail wagging furiously, phasing in and out of the furniture and generally having a good time.

Eventually she will come sit at his feet and give him a spectral bark. Perhaps she wants something ,or maybe is just saying hello]
