I figured. I know things are a little more cramped right now, so I hope everyone's doing okay at the inn! I only very recently figured my own little place, but. I hope it isn't too bad. But I wanted to ask too. I heard about some holidays, celebrations coming up. Halloween is soon, right? We didn't have it back home, but I gather it's where you get to dress up and go get candy? Sweets? I guess sort of like giving people things like Genis' cookies back home? It sounds fun! I'm not sure what to dress up, but I think I'd like to give it a try.

Oh! Maybe I can make something for Emerald too!

[The Familiar seems to, if possible, raise an eyebrow at that idea, as if she is Unsure on allowing this. But then. It's Colette and she is nothing if not enthusiastic, as she is with most anything. It's hard if not impossible to really say no. And then Colette all but lights up again. Which is just her expression as she lies on her bed, but also that might be more in the literal sense given her light magic.]

Ooooooh! I could dress up all the dogs at the café! That would be so cute! Maybe that would help them find a new home!

[.....Yup, this is why her friends all say the topic of conversation always goes out the window where Colette is concerned. She always gets distracted or the topic goes over her head and she misinterprets things.....]

Gosh, I've never celebrated Halloween, but it sounds like a lot of fun! Uhm... I've only heard about it, but humans usually dress up in all sorts of stuff, and people give them free candy because of that. The costumes supposed to be whatever you want! Some people like being something scary, but then others dress up as monsters -- or something else like an animal, o-or even something they want to be when they get older.

( He's not so sure about the dressing up part because it's not like he can dress up like a monster himself?? )

I'm the same. I've only heard about it since I got here. I wonder what I should dress up as then. I never really thought about what I wanted to do when I got older.

[Because. She never even expected to make it to seventeen as she had done here. Yeah. Colette's situation definitely made this more complicated.]

I'm not sure if I want to dress up or give out the candy. Both sound so fun!

That's the really fun part! It can be anything you want. Maybe if there's an animal you really like, you could dress up as that.

Those are both really good ideas! That way, you could enjoy both parts of Halloween.

Oh yeah...Halloween is coming up, huh? I'd almost forgotten about that.

People do give out sweets during Halloween, though they tend to be candies or things that are easier to wrap up and pass out. But you could also make Halloween-themed sweets for parties and stuff. Maybe you could make little Halloween-themed treats to sell at the café?

And people have dressed up their dogs in costume before, so you could dress up the dogs at the café too. Just, uh...maybe be careful. Not all dogs might like wearing costumes.

It is. Apparently. I hadn't heard about it until recently. But it sounds fun! Themed treats at the café could be neat too! If you have any ideas. From what I can tell it seems there's a lot of. Bats and pumpkin decorations?

Ah, no. I won't force them if they don't want to dress up. I just thought. It might be cute. And might help them get a proper home, is all.

Oh yeah, bats and pumpkins are pretty popular. But you can make anything, really! Like, ghosts, or monsters, or even just decorate something so it looks like a wolf howling at the moon.

I'm sure some of the dogs won't mind dressing up! It'd definitely be cute.

...Hmm...I wonder if Atom would let me dress him up.

Ghosts and monsters too? There's so many options for decorating, it sounds like. But ah, I can see if I can help? If he comes and sees some of the other dogs at the café it might entice him?

[She won't turn down any help with this. She is newer with Halloween in choosing outfits, and hasn't exactly tried to dress a dog before.]

Of course. Like you said, it should help them find good homes. [ If only he weren't still in the inn... he's certain Kazunari wouldn't mind having a dog around, but space would be an issue. ]

Could you tell me more about them? Perhaps we could choose costumes that match their personalities.

There are a few of them! I haven't got all the dogs from the shelter there at the café but. There's one that's really sweet but more timid and shy? Another one is really friendly and excitable! That dog will go up to anyone and plays with all the other dogs!

But I wouldn't force them if they didn't want to. It's better to keep them happy than to make them uncomfortable or upset when we want the dogs at the café to find a home.

I don't think he'll mind! It's use wearing an arm band and a hoodie. So I doubt he'll mind getting a bow tie will bother him!

I wasn't thinking anything too major. Just a little something cute. And only if they seem to like it.

[She doesn't want to force them. But she does giggle at the way Ken talks to his dog like that. It's still taking some adjusting given she herself hasn't had a pet or anything back home. Given Noishe was Lloyd's. Now she has Emerald and is helping care for all the dogs at the café and shelter.]

Halloween is a popular holiday in my world, Colette-san. I'll be surprised if there is something like it here too. It would be fun to dress up...

It's not a big holiday in Japan but people do like to celebrate and dress up in costumes.

That's the plan. I do want them to find a proper home! But ah, I hadn't figured ideas I've settled on yet. I'm still new to this Halloween and what people might usually do with dressing up. Let alone dressing the dogs.....
