[Video. UN: Rubitsune] Not Rocks For Brains, That's For Sure
[ The video starts on a particularly tired looking Ruby, the girl looking none-too-pleased and much-too-exasperated. She appears to be in an inn room. ]
Okay. I think it's time for me to finally admit that I need help figuring something out. I am trying to figure out what stones are useful for green mages, specifically with helping either concentration or control. I keep reading books but it seems like every one of them has a different answer, or there are details I don't really understand and...
I just want to find a stone that may help me train my green magic since it is... [ She pauses and purses her lips a moment before speaking again. ] Well saying my green magic is excitable would kind of be understating it. It's gotten better, but it still all rushes out really fast the moment I'm not working with dried plants, and that is sort of a problem since it's all used up before I really get any practice in.
In return for information I offer a nice meal, since my magic does behave for dried herbs and spices, and I've been learning from the cooks at the inn!

I didn't want to buy something I didn't need when my goal here needs money, but in the end maybe it would have been good to get some stones so I could at least trade with someone who knows what I'd need.
[ She remembers that his shop has stoneworks. If it weren't for the fact she knows he doesn't want to aid in needless violence, and the fact they may have differing opinions on 'needless', well she'd ask in a heartbeat. ]

I believe you do not need any enchantments to use them as a focus for spellcasting. But it would seem your issue is that they work a little TOO well.

Yes. You're probably going to think this is silly, but it's like the magic is excited. It behaves when working on dried plants, and even on fully-grown plants that need a little boost, but if I'm trying to make thing grow, not just help a plant be healthy... Well.
[ There is an embedded picture at the bottom. The plant looks like it's supposed to be a pumpkin, but the vines have gone and covered not only the majority of the rather large fruit but also the bulk of the ground. If anything, it looks like perhaps there are multiple pumpkin plants caught up in the disarray... ]
[ She makes a second post immediately after. ]
I want to learn how to help things grow, but the magic just all goes out all at once, and I have no idea how to pace it when it's like this. I know magic probably doesn't have its own personality, at least not the magic we use, but it really, really feels like my green magic wants to expand whenever possible.

By 'aether' I mean whatever passes for magic in this world.
'Twas not an uncommon problem for me to see where I am from. With enough of it present, aether can become sentient after a fashion.

So it's not stupid or crazy to think that my magic maybe actually has wants? That's good... I didn't know how else to explain it, and it felt like the equivalent of saying "My blood has its own thoughts" which is maybe a little crazy.

Instead of focusing your magic on a single point, release it across a wider area throughout the day and spread it thin. Then the effects will not be felt so strongly and it will not surge when you do wish to cast a spell.
