video: un: boomerang-guy / cw: blood, violence
[ The video starts off abruptly. It seems it’s a live feed of a fight between two young men: Namely Sokka and Zuko. It’s a nice friendly spar, right? They’re friends, after all, so of course they’re going to just spar friendly for one of Sokka’s videos—
Except this is anything but friendly-looking.
Zuko and Sokka both have swords in each hand, and intensely focused scowls on their faces. Zuko, for one, takes far too much comfort in the presence of healing magic, now justifying any number of violent acts for fun with “well, I know a healer.” In the beginning of the feed, the boys are circling a clearing in the forest, before inevitably it’s Zuko who makes the first strike.
He lunges at Sokka with both dao swords brandished, aiming at the boy’s swords as if to knock them out of his hands. The same focus and intention written all over his face is clear in his movements, and while surely he doesn’t really intend to hurt his friend, that’s not… exactly as clear… He was taught to disarm before going for bodily harm if he can, the honorable thing to do, but if he can’t do that— welp. Sokka’s quick on his feet, yeah?
Sokka doesn’t back down and instead changes the way he’s holding his swords so Zuko can’t knock them out of his hands. He puts a bit of strength behind his strike back. He’s also way too confident about Katara healing them both to actually hold back from injuring Zuko so the strike is going towards his torso instead of towards disarming.
And whether it’s intentional or not — it really isn’t clear, are they fighting or are they training?! somehow the intensity reads like fighting?! — Zuko dodges him and in a swift strike back, the dodge and blow somehow all seemingly one fluid motion with his swords moving in tandem, he lands a hit. One blade drags across Sokka’s chest, tearing his shirt, and visibly drawing blood that quickly seeps into the torn fabric, clearly seen on camera. What’s not seen, however, is the look of shock and instant regret and concern on Zuko’s face; from behind, he just looks like a damn good swordsman.
And as suddenly as the video started, Momo appears at the edge of the video feed and starts hitting random buttons on the phone, shutting off the video feed, the last sight being the winged lemur’s cute, wide-eyed face before the feed goes black and silent at an abrupt end. ]
[OOC: Replies will come from both Sokka and Zuko (
rediscovering) but also from a oblivious Momo.]
