[Alice shifts the device backwards after she turns it on and smiles at it. She's in the Inn for the observant. Her big silver tabby with his sharp claws and even sharper fangs is asleep on her bed. Or, well, he LOOKS asleep but an ear is turned towards Alice.]

Oh ah, I beg your pardon, please. My name is Alice Liddell, how do you do?

[She offers a curtsy to the device. The tabby seemed to purr, perhaps he picked Alice for her manners.]

I do apologize as I'm about to add to all the questions, I hope it's alright? Oh- but that isn't the question, you see!

What I was wondering, and hoping someone might have the answer, is- is there a school? [Whether or not she needs to attend can be asked AFTER she knows if there is one.]

Also, does anyone else have control over various elements? I've never had any powers before you see, or well, you don't as I didn't have them, but I do have them now! I was wondering if anyone is very skilled at them. I...

[She glanced at the singed napkin near the microwave of the room.]

I had a bit of an... accidental incident earlier with fire and would like to not to... that is, not have any more incidents on accident. [The silver tabby's ear flicked and his tail swished.]

(The mention of school soon alerts Harry to the fact that, somehow, the people in Avalon probably forgot about sending kids from other worlds to school and it is weird not to bring kids to school immediately.)

I am not sure if I have checked that out, Alice, but it is possible to find and get enrolled in one. It just will take some time to find one. Come to think of it, I think the people in the Avalon welcoming committee probably forget about school arrangements for newly arrived people from other worlds.

(And when she mentioned having an accident with fire, he gets highly concerned.)

Hello, Alice, it's really nice to meet you. My name's Katara. And I think adding to the questions is totally fine, then we'll have more answers too.

[Or at least more things to search/think/find answers to... Even if that wasn't one of the real questions and speaking of them, Katara has no idea how school works here, so she's skipping to the other one.]

I don't have control over any elements here, though I have Healing magic if accidents happen with them. But back home I've been travelling with a boy, who has skills like that and back there I also control water in all of its forms myself.

I'm not sure how similar any local magic is to what we have there, but I could at least try to help you.

[Also wait what, accidental incident? They seem to be fine but...! ]

I'm bummed that a good friend of mine didn't arrive with us. He knows all of the four elements back home and can control them. He would have been able to teach you! [And Sokka, but Sokka is ignoring the fact he has powers right now.] I mean, if our whole team was here, we'd have air, fire, earth and water all sorted out so they could help multiple people at once.

I mean, my sister is here so she could probably help you with water. I can definitely introduce you guys.

Mr. Harry! [Alice immediately brightens at the familiar face.]

Ah, well, not everyone thinks about school, that is true. I wonder if I shall have to pay for it.

["School for everyone" is a more... modern idea than most people realize.] I shall have to find a way to make money.

[How she's going to manage a job AND school, Alice hasn't figured out.]

Oh, it was just a little one. I was trying to warm up a bread roll from breakfast this morning, I must have made it much too hot because the napkin caught fire. Just a little one, though, and I did manage to snuff it out before it got too big.

It's very nice to meet you, Miss Katara. I'm glad my questions aren't bothersome! [Alice dislikes being or causing trouble in general.]

You could control water? That's lovely! I can't control anything, I can barely control my temper. [Ha.]

Oh yes, just a little burnt napkin... and very burnt bread, I'm afraid.

I'm terribly sorry your friends aren't all here, sir. I don't have anyone from home. My sister isn't here at all.

[She frowns a bit and lightly pulls at her fingers.

That is a good question about tuition fees: I haven’t thought about it either. I will keep that in mind when bringing this up to the welcoming committee soon. (Even though he is just a mere volunteer, Harry does his best to gather suggestions and ideas from other people to help the committee in making the transition easier on everyone.)

Well, it is a good thing you were able to avoid a disaster quickly. Some of the people here had a much tougher time to trying to control fire when they first come here. It takes a lot of practice and trail and error to get the hang of it in the long run.

Heya Alice! I'm Kise! [The blond grins at the camera, waving; he's wrapped up in scarf and with a wool hat on, blond hair peeking from the edges of it.]

I think there is school, but I didn't look too much into it. I know that there are teachers, I guess, you can ask about your magic and to have them help you learn how to use your magic.

I never had magic before either. Well, not active. I could warm up stuff before, but now I can instead make shields and images. I'm not that good at studying but practicing helped me out a lot.

[And here, Ken thought he was one of the younger people being sent here. Now that there was one even younger than himself? He couldn't help but be a little worried.]

I think the better question is are you okay? I hope you had someone help you put out the fire.

[He'll ask about various other questions later. Right now, it was more important she was safe!]

Baked bread is a lovely smell, burnt bread is quite the opposite.

No, I was... trying to warm up the food I saved from breakfast. [They only serve one meal, and Alice has only just arrived. Knowing the town, never mind being able to afford things for another meal is not entirely within her means.]

I warmed it up far too much and the whole bread roll caught alight. I smothered it with the napkin I wrapped it in but singed the napkin.

The bread is completely burnt and black.

I do believe it's simply because I was trying to warm up a bread roll and bread isn't quite like firewood.

Well... the problem is, trial and error with fire is... not... the easiest. I don't wish to hurt anyone.

Next time, make sure you're practising your magic with someone else around, okay? I know you have a familiar, but it's still risky messing with it on your own.

You know, while I don't know that there's a school, since I haven't looked - I'd bet there is. It seems kind of necessary or needed. But even if there isn't, there are people around who seem willing and able to help teach in less formal ways.

I can't help much in the way of elements, since that's not what I do, and I'm pretty new to it myself.

[Oh god, there were children here? This was giving him anxiety. It was one thing to drag unsuspectiing idiots in, and another to grab literal children.

Unfortunately he was no better in talking with kids than he was with adults.]

Not sure how this world's magic works, I only just got here myself, but usually its all about feeling. You want something, you feel it, and it happens just like...

Maybe you should start with something less volatile than fire. Plant growing maybe. Then if they screwed up you could always yell at them for it.
