[Colette seems cheerful enough at least, as usual. If perhaps a little nervous but at the same time, given what she wants to discuss perhaps that is to be expected. Thinking about the future is difficult. Scary. Especially when previously she hasn't really had reason to plan, to need to think about the future. In assuming she would only live to see sixteen. That she had it all planned out for her in being the Chosen. She sits in her room at the inn again, curled up on the bed with Emerald at her lap.]

I've been thinking. About what I want to do here, I mean! I think I want to....um. Remember those bunny cafes? I want to do something like that? But for dogs! Maybe where people can come meet some that are waiting to be adopted? I'm not the best at cooking but I do okay? Or maybe if someone else wanted to help with that. I'm not sure on how big -- how busy this sort of thing would be? But for dogs it might need to be a little bigger than the bunny cafes....

I'll still help out with anyone that wants it for their plants or flowers or crops to help them grow too! I just figure. I like dogs. And sweets. So....as long as I figure the right place. And have enough money for it? Even then, I'm not really used to thinking about the future. What I want to do, anything after my Journey.

[She fidgets a little but she does figure seeming to calm more when Emerald briefly raises her head for pets.]

I was also going to ask. I know birthdays have been mentioned. I guess they still count? Even here? Because. Um. Mine is the end of the month. I'd be seventeen.

[Seventeen years old. The girl who was never expected to live past sixteen. This concept of being seventeen, older even. Having a future. It's.....new. Still something she is adjusting to. Definitely. But she's trying. Learning.]

And I guess here, it won't be a church ceremony. Like I've had up till now back home on my birthday.

[This would be. More about her. About Colette. Not the Chosen. About it being one year closer to her leaving for her Journey. It would certainly be new. A different way to celebrate. Probably more akin to when she was twelve and Lloyd and Genis made her that pendant and cake.

Still, for now she simply gives a small smile, even as she finishes up.]

But I guess. For others it's usually.....a party, right? With cake and all your friends?

[At least. She recalls as much from others having their birthday. From when Lloyd had his. Or Genis. It's kind of exciting? If also kind of strange and new and nerve-wrecking in her not having really properly done this birthday thing before herself exactly.]

I see you're pursuing with the dog cafe idea. Like I said before, if you need my assistance with the dogs you only need to ask.

As for birthdays... I think it varies depending on one's preference. [......Hmmm?] Have you never had a birthday party before?

Hey, congrats! Seventeen means you're getting up there! Make sure that you continue living your youth to the fullest! There's plenty out there who don't get a chance.

[In Kotarou's case, he felt that he never truly had a chance to live his youth before re-living his 'lost time'. Even though he was technically an adult now, he still carried his youthful spirit.]

That's right. Birthday parties can be big or small as you want! Your friends will shower you with all kinds of gifts and love!

Ah. I might? I'll let you know if I do. [Maybe. If she isn't too stubborn in trying to do it herself.]

But ah, that is....there was my twelfth birthday? Genis made me a cake and Lloyd made me a pendant. But it's always been a church thing for my birthday. Celebrating being a year closer to me leaving for my Journey.

[So. Not so much about Colette herself. More about yay, one year closer till she gets to sacrifice herself for us!]

[She is. Well aware of that. Given she herself didn't expect to make it to have a seventeenth birthday and all. But she doesn't need to go into that. Simply. Agrees with the sentiment in being well aware not everyone gets to this point.]

I'm not sure I'd be used to anything too big. Iselia was pretty small...there was that one time though. When I turned twelve and Genis made a cake. Lloyd made me a pendant. Like that?

[It seemed similar? As best as she could expect, for her own birthday compared to everyone else's parties at least?]

You might want to make it a whole park cafe, with play obstacles for the dogs.

...I see. Is there something you'd particularly want? Either to do or as a gift.

[ Her heavy reliance on fruit is hardly to his carnivore tastes, but neither Marta nor his sweet-toothed monsters ever turned down Colette's treats, and he trusts their opinion on the matter. Plus, Colette's dessert arrangements were on the cute side. Definitely the kind of thing he can see selling in a cafe. ]

What kind of a menu were you thinking of?

Exactly! That's the right idea! Though I dunno if I'm the best guy to give birthday advice for becaaaaause...

[There's a dramatic pause.]

I never had a lot of friends to share a birthday with! It was just me and my childhood friend.

I was thinking it would definitely need some outside space too. For the dogs. The rabbits might be okay inside but dogs need that space to run around and play. Plus it would mean I could have some indoor tables and some outside too if it's nice weather for people to sit outside.

[She's starting to consider it at least. She just needs to save up and find somewhere, hope she has got everything covered.]

I hadn't really thought about it?

[Aside from the obvious of figuring her new magic more. Going to school here. Figuring a job like this. She hadn't considered gifts. Or what else she would like to do. There's a lot she missed out on in being so sheltered back home but she doesn't necessarily realize how much she missed out on.]

I hadn't decided exactly yet. But I guess I should. I just know I'll need to find a place and get all set up and everything first. I can try come up with some ideas though. Maybe you can help me taste test?

[With her sweet tooth, he probably wouldn't be the only one keen to see what she goes with and help her decide in offering to taste test.]

You too? Mm, I mostly just had Lloyd and Genis, back home. There were other kids at school and all, in the village, but. Most everyone else just saw me as the Chosen.

[That title and status, her eventual fate meant people, while grateful for her, didn't really necessarily get to know her as Colette. So she is kind of in the same position really. In not really having done the birthday thing besides that one time when she was twelve and Genis made her a cake, Lloyd making her that pendant.]

[ It's his favorite hobby when he isn't running an entire planet. (Which was kind of a big priority.) But now he has all this free time to explore the foodie life! ]

Hobbies? Ah. Um, well.....I liked reading. Novels or fairytales sort of thing I guess? I suppose different worlds have different books or stories but maybe there's some that might be similar. I like baking too!

[She does have a sweet tooth, after all. Not that she is as good as Genis, but even so. Colette enjoys it. She's never really had to think on gift ideas? What she liked? It didn't really seem to matter so much back home, considering nobody really asked, in only seeing her as the Chosen. Not getting close enough to ask, to really get to know her as Colette.]

And I suspect there will be several who will be willing to throw you party. You should tell them what you'd like and your preferences as well.

[Even if he himself is offering. Of course she is like this. But she wouldn't say no either if he wants to help out. She has to accept this might be something she won't manage on her own to figure doing. Not entirely.]

My preferences? I guess I can try think of some. The closest thing I had to a party back home was Genis making a cake that he and Lloyd ate with me. Lloyd made me a pendant.

Mmm. I'm not sure. I guess I'm more used to it being everyone with the church celebrations back home usually. I've met so many people here. I'm not sure even if I wanted something smaller it might end up bigger anyway.

[Because. Yeah. Colette has befriended so many at this point. Surprising nobody given her cheerful, optimistic and friendly nature and all.]

Ah, Colette-san, you could even help dogs get adopted through something like that as well. I think it's a great idea if you decide to go through with it!

Congratulations on it almost being your birthday! People usually have birthday parties with some close friends but I think you can do whatever you'd like to?

It's not a problem! I enjoy preparing food.

I don't make desserts as often as you, but... I did experiment a lot with making biscuits for my wolves, so I could probably make dog treats, too. You're going to have a pet menu, right?

[ He may have thought more about this than her. Feeding a furry army back home probably has something to do with that. ]

I wouldn't want anyone to miss out. So.....yes!

[Her birthday likely would be a big affair with most everyone invited, knowing her.]
