Ah, back home I'm part of the Navy. And while I only just got here... gettin' stuck on land, and other things, kinda makes me feel a bit antsy.

Soooo... yeah. I'm just wanting to see if there were any others that might be wanting to shove off to sea.

There was a lake on my home world that I sailed on many times.

Oh! Lakes can be super fun to sail on. Especially big ones! What sorta boat did you use?

We used canoes for the most part. The lake was peaceful, so we didn't require anything bigger.

Oh! So ya went out canoeing on a lake. Never been out to see though, have ya?

I haven't. I have flown ships in space, but I've never sailed on a sea. What's it like?

In space? Really? That's like, really cool!

Oh, and sailing on the ocean is amazing. Kind of like a lake, but less calm. Like, a lot less calm. But it's also super freeing when you're out on it. You could go anywhere, and almost nothing but whoever you're with and the sea itself can touch you. The sound of the waves, the smell of the salt, the sun, wind, and rain....

It is difficult to adjust to being on land again after spending so long at sea, isn't it?

...I have been on my share of voyages, although the less said about our arrogant captain the better.

I like the way that sounds. Having so much freedom must be exhilarating! (She has never experienced that, but her constraints were chosen by her. You can't complain about your shackles if you put them on yourself, right?)

I respect anyone who captains a vessel without a set map.

Yeah, it is. I mean, I got no problem's with bein' on land, but the sea's where it's at for me.

Haha, it's kind of rare to find someone that really likes their captain. Arrogant captains can be the worst too, and dangerous for the crew. Hm... but what sort of places have ya gone?

Ahhh... I wouldn't recommend sailing without a set map on hand.

[Please don't go traveling without anything to use as navigation!] But yeah, it can be really exhilarating. Especially when land is just a distant, hazy view. That's when you know you're a really long ways away from home and going somewhere where the only rules over ya are those of the ship.

Does the sea feel more like home to you, then? I only ever saw traveling the ocean as a journey to a destination, but...I wonder if someone like you might see it differently.

...Our destination was Greece, if that means anything to you. Originally we'd intended to cross the Black Sea from what is now called Georgia, then through Bosphorus and travel that way...but our voyage got driven rather off-course.
