(She is pale and resolved; this is not a woman who is unaccustomed to strife.)

This seems the quickest way to go about my search. (And since her physical stamina hasn't completely returned.) I am Padmé Amidala, Senator of Naboo. Am I known to anyone present?

(She wants to be known. She doesn't want to be known. She wants a friend. She doesn't want anyone to touch her.)

It's not terribly important. (But it is.) Of course we can get to know one another. If you wish to speak, I will listen.

[Gandra is mostly used to humans now, but admittedly her experience has been limited to the past couple of months. It's not enough to be completely familiar with their physiology. Still, she's healed enough locals from their rescue of Lestari that she has an inkling that Padme might not be well.]

(She isn't thrown by Gandra's appearance - after all she has encountered many alien races. The kind offering helps to set her at ease too. Maybe she does need healing.)

I gave birth to twins only a few moments before I found myself in the lake.

Were it not terribly important, I doubt that it would be the first thing you would ask of people.

[Not that Gaius doesn't get it. Certainly the first thing he did, both in this land and the previous one he'd been trapped in, was try to find anyone familiar, so while his voice isn't at all unkind as he answers.]

That said, I'm afraid that I have never heard of Naboo myself. But with the sheer number of people that have been gathered to this place, I do hope you will find one who has, Senator.

[ Star Wars is definitely a thing that exists as its franchise self in Ritsuka's world, but also, she's only vaguely familiar with it--her interest in scifi is mostly focused on giant robots and their ilk; someone from a mecha series is more likely to trigger a reaction than anything else.

Mostly, she's worried about how tired the woman looks. There is a certain familiarity to that kind of stance, from one person used to disaster to another accustomed to strife. ]

That is not a place I have ever seen mentioned. Many here are scattered remnants from a vast variety of worlds. I've only found a few from my own.

You make a fair point. (And if it weren't important, she wouldn't be frightened of the answer either.)

(Pregnancy is difficult enough without seeing your husband turn into a terrifying Sith Lord who tries to choke you. But those are her burdens and she will place them on no one else's shoulders.)

I have never heard of Japan. Is that a planet? (Tell her about Earth, Ritsuka.)

Hello, Ritsuka. (What a loaded question!) I'm...in one piece.

I believe we are from different galaxies. For a planet to have the ability to pull us all to itself, that requires a great deal of power.

I have no doubt that is somewhere far, far away from where we originated. I do not trust the power that brought us here.

Neither do I, frankly. (Great power is often abused in her experience.) We must do our best and protect one another.

What magic did this world bestow upon you?

Light and Siphon. I'm...learning both. I've never had magic before.

What kinda of abilities do those grant you?

Light magic allows me to create light and...eventually...to shield myself. Siphon magic means I can siphon power from other sources - possibly to bolster my defenses.

[ Aha. She recognizes that sort of hedging; she's done it often enough herself. And an introduction is definitely not the place to dig into that, so Ritsuka just laughs and shrugs. ]

Nah, it's just a country. It's on a planet called Earth--I think technically we're on a version of Earth right now, though it's nothing like the one I knew.

It's nice to meet you, Mando. (Safe or not, she is certain she will be recognized by someone eventually. Why not beat them to the punch? The only thing she has to hide isn't an issue here.) How long have you been on this planet?

Is that so? (There can be multiple versions of the same planet? Or maybe this is Ritsuka's planet - just at a different time?) It must be strange for you. Are we close to where your Japan would be located?
